For Throwback Thursday we have the class of 2003 at the farm when they were in the 9-10s. Do you have any shots of former students at MCS we can share for an upcoming Thursday?

“Summer in the City counselors are really nice and helpful and they’re really understanding,” Junia said. “Manhattan Country School is a place where everybody can feel like they fit in and they belong.”

Today, our culinary artists made chocolate chip cookies with Vana. “You get to learn how to make new foods,” Junia said, referring to cooking class. “They're really delicious. And you get to share recipes with your friends and the teachers can help you. And it's just really sweet and I love it.”

“My kids love coming here and doing camp with their school friends,” said Michelle, Immy and Arden’s mom. “I like that they go to the park every day. They absolutely love going to the pool on Fridays. That's a huge highlight."

Today in nature atelier with Candice, our artists experimented with nature portraits, slime, paint, clay, pine cones, and beads.

We have organized a day of harvesting the gardens, pickling veggies, and tackling some overdue tasks around the farm. The completion of these important tasks will help keep the MCS Farm running smoothly throughout the upcoming school year. Today for Summer in the City, our youngest campers enjoyed a dance party with Flor Bromley and Summer on the Hudson!

During Summer in the City today, our artists continued working with clay. A rising 9-10s student, Matthew said he enjoyed painting. “It feels good to paint because it pretty much calms you down,” he said. “I think art is a very important piece of your education because you can make anything.” Matthew is looking forward to the Summer in the City field trip tomorrow to Brooklyn Bridge Park. “Summer in the City is the best,” he said. “They do a really good job of having fun and they also educate you.”
