  • At just 19, Jacob Morley is well on his way to an in-demand career thanks to his auto technician apprenticeship at Goodwin Chevrolet and Mazda in Brunswick, Maine. He enrolled through the Maine Apprenticeship Program and enjoys the gradual progression of tasks and projects guided by his assigned mentors. "I would say 100% do it. It's a great opportunity. You'll learn a lot, and there's nothing really better than that,"" he said. ""If you're a hands-on learner, it's great." Oh, and did we mention this apprenticeship is PAID? Yep, Jacob jump-started his auto technician career by learning the trade WHILE earning a paycheck. Check out other opportunities like this here: https://lnkd.in/g59CWKUW

  • We are pleased to announce that we are partnering with FAST Enterprises to build the Maine Paid Family and Medical Leave Program’s online contributions portal! This portal will allow employers to register their business information with the Maine Paid Family and Medical Leave Program, file quarterly wage reports and remit contributions, and to apply for private plan substitutions when eligible. The system will also provide the opportunity for self-employed individuals and tribal governments to opt into coverage from the Paid Family and Medical Leave program.  “The Department looks forward to this partnership to build a user-centric, intuitive, and effective one-stop service system for employers in Maine to interact with the Maine Paid Family Leave Program,” said Luke Monahan, Director of Maine’s Paid Family and Medical Leave Program. FAST Enterprises has previously worked with Maine Revenue Services to create the Maine Tax Portal, as well as the contribution collections system for the Massachusetts Department of Family and Medical Leave. Payroll contributions begin January 1, 2025, and benefits are scheduled to begin May 1, 2026. For more information and to stay updated, visit https://lnkd.in/g7GrZvpu
