Churn baby churn! Mike Bloxham drops the #SVOD truth, on this latest episode of nScreenNoise with Colin Dixon.
As the SVOD market shifts from customer acquisition toward revenue growth, providers need to be more conscious of which consumers they target in their marketing. My Magid colleague, Mike Bloxham, EVP of Global Media, Entertainment, and Gaming, explains why a large group of potential customers likely to churn is still worth targeting in marketing campaigns.

The Oohs and Ahhs of fireworks are over. So too are the Ehhs and Ughs of those inescapable Fourth of July blowout sales. #Retail too often relies on deep discounting to attract customers. But is it effective? Is it sustainable? Remember your Marketing classes: Couponing = bad for top-of-funnel Awareness, better for mid-funnel Interest. Magid goes even deeper, and explores potential risks for retailers relying too heavily on discounts and coupons. ◾ What is the possible effect of couponing on your brand's reputation? ◾ What can we learn from cautionary tales of other retailers? ◾ How can you strike the right balance between promotional activity and brand integrity? Consumer brand leaders, read and heed. And connect with our Jennifer Dilley to see if the price is right…

The future of business starts with a Z. Magid Intelligence brings you proprietary consumer insights on #GenerationZ, born 1997-2012. One distinction is clear, Gen Z has an always-online worldview that has reached equivalence to reality - a "hyperlink reality.” The Digital Divide has officially been bridged - there is no blurred line between the Digital and Physical world, experiences, and relationships. Gen Z experiences these worlds equally, with equal value. So now what, marketers? In this first of a series of our core Gen Z insights, we drill down on dough, i.e. the financial savvy of this, the most financially-aware generation we’ve seen to-date. They definitely have their “minds on the #money.” Connect with Jennifer Dilley to talk about the Magid solutions that consumer brands can leverage to engage with and drive business with this next generation. And stay tuned for details of our “Gen Z Strategy Program” - a yearlong cohort of expert presentations and unique research inputs for key clients. https://lnkd.in/gQxycevW

A and B is not the whole story. A/B testing in Paid Media tells brands only which ad between the two tested better; not WHY it tested better, how to optimize it further, what it means in the larger context of relevance to consumers' lives, etc. That’s where we come in. And despite significant investments in Earned Media, many brands just stick to A/B testing of posts, i.e. lacking a cohesive strategy and rigorous evaluation methods. Our recent collaboration with a major advertiser brand highlights the importance of a refined, structured approach to Social Media strategy as well, resulting in clearer brand messaging and improved performance metrics for our client. Our President & CEO Brent Magid explains in this week’s blog that just because you are spending less doesn’t mean you need to be any less sophisticated. https://lnkd.in/gGKEvS86
