On September 24th, 1989, our organization took another great first step with the groundbreaking of St. John's Herr Estate. From that day onward, the community would only continue to grow into the thriving place it is today. Learn more about this moment in our history with additional photos from our archive in the latest news story at Luthercare.org/News

As Luthercare entered the late 1980s, our previous leaders envisioned how we could continue make a difference in the lives of those we served. With their foresight we made great strides with the expansion of Luther Acres - A Luthercare Community and acquisition of the land that would become St. John's Herr Estate - A Luthercare Community; strengthened our Lutheran bonds with our affiliation with the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America; and made a joyful noise unto the Lord with a restored organ at Spang Crest - A Luthercare Community. Tomorrow is Carl McAloose's last day as President and CEO of Luthercare. As we look back on Carl's 16 years of service, we are reminded of the many incredible accomplishments that were made possible through his leadership. From overseeing expansions of our services and advances in technology, to forming partnerships with local organizations, improving the quality of life for so many residents, guiding us through the COVID-19 pandemic, and so much more—Carl has played a pivotal role in guiding and shaping Luthercare into the organization it is today. After 30 years of service in the senior living industry we wish him the best in his retirement. Thank you Carl! #thankyou #retirement #leadership

Last night's 152nd Annual Dinner hosted by the Lancaster Chamber was a slam dunk! Our team left feeling ready to lead with excellence after a brilliant night of recognitions for local trailblazers and an inspiring keynote speech given by Duke University's Men's Basketball Head Coach, Mike "Coach K" Krzyzewski.

Summer break often comes with the challenge of keeping young minds active and engaged. This year, we decided to tackle that challenge head-on! Thanks to incredible support from the United Way of Lebanon County, we were able to make a real difference in our community by providing families with something special: family engagement kits. Each kit included age-appropriate educational materials, information on local programs, and food to help support families after school is out. In total, Luthercare for Kids distributed over 140 engagement kits to families served by our Systems Aligned in Learning (SAIL) Program in Lebanon County. Here's to starting the summer off right with learning, laughter, and endless possibilities!
