The Los Angeles Regional Food Bank held a ribbon-cutting ceremony on June 25 for the new City of Industry Distribution Center. This signifies considerable strides in our ongoing mission to combat the growing hunger problem throughout LA County. The Food Bank sincerely thanks the City of Industry Mayor Cory Moss, Council Members and Officials and all who contributed to the ribbon-cutting ceremony's success.

Volunteers are the backbone of the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank and its partner agencies. Lydia, who volunteers at the Word International food pantry in Eagle Rock, exemplifies this commitment, helping feed hundreds of families weekly. In 2023 alone, over 21,000 volunteers donated their time to the Food Bank, ensuring nutritious meals reach families facing food insecurity. Volunteering offers a sense of fulfillment and community. Thanks to donors, community partners and hunger-relief advocates, the LA Regional Food Bank hosted a grand opening event for our City of Industry Distribution Center. This renovated space significantly increases the Food Bank's capacity across LA County. With 40,000 sq. ft. of cooler/freezer space, new pallet racking, a loading dock with 20 positions, and future solar panels, this center will help our neighbors like never before. For those facing food insecurity, access to food and nutrition support is a significant relief amidst rising living costs and the complexities of managing limited budgets.
