Being There Matters™
About us
Formed in 1898, LifeCare Alliance is central Ohio’s first in-home health care agency, Ohio’s first agency to provide visiting nurses, and the nation’s second agency to deliver Meals-on-Wheels. LifeCare Alliance is a not-for-profit organization that provides a comprehensive array of health and nutrition services to older adults or medically challenged homebound residents of central Ohio through its signature programs: Meals-on-Wheels, Senior Dining Centers, Wellness Centers, Help-at-Home, Visiting Nurses, The Columbus Cancer Clinic, Project OpenHand-Columbus, Groceries-to-Go, IMPACT Safety, the Central Ohio Diabetes Association, and Senior PetCare. The Agency’s mission is to lead the community in identifying and delivering health and nutrition services to meet the community’s changing needs. LifeCare Alliance has emerged as a national leader in merger collaborations and program assumptions, having successfully completed numerous combinations including Meals-on-Wheels of Madison, Marion, Logan, and Champaign Counties, Project OpenHand-Columbus, The Columbus Cancer Clinic, IMPACT Safety, and the Central Ohio Diabetes Association. These mergers have eliminated or reduced costs and the redundancy of services in central Ohio, resulting in more funds for programs, enhanced services, and an increase in client access to basic needs. LifeCare Alliance has begun several social entrepreneurship endeavors to provide added funding for our clients, including L.A. Catering, meal sales, Meals-for-Kids, corporate wellness programs, immunizations, and travel vaccines.

On June 23, I am celebrating 10 years at LifeCare Alliance. Over the past decade, I have witnessed the evolution of our agency through mergers, meaningful partnerships to enhance services, re-branding, and of course exciting grant awards. Three years ago, I had the opportunity to expand my role into strategic planning to continue building foundations for the future. Also in these 10 years, I got married, bought my first home, and welcomed a child into the world. Through it all, Zach Devier has been my constant supporter. He has nudged me to do things outside my comfort zone and believed in me even when I didn't believe in myself. A big THANK YOU to my colleague Kelly Parrett, GPC for the thoughtful door decorations. It was a fabulous walk down memory lane!

Our Corporate and Community Engagement Team had an incredible time at Root Insurance last Wednesday (the 26th), facilitating a volunteer effort during their all-hands meeting with the technology team! With 110 staff members, we set up three stations: bagging pet treats, preparing bag liners for Meals-on-Wheels, and creating cheer cards for our clients. #BeingThereMatters #CommunityEngagement

Did you know that volunteers deliver 70% of our meal delivery routes? Volunteering is a powerful way to make a meaningful impact on both your community and your own life. At LifeCare Alliance, our volunteers are invaluable; without them, we couldn't serve all our clients. Explore our diverse volunteer opportunities: - Meals-on-Wheels: Pick up meals at one of our convenient satellite locations near your home or work and deliver them to homebound individuals. - Kitchens: Support our kitchen staff with essential tasks to keep the Meals-on-Wheels program running smoothly. - Fan Campaign: Pick up fans from local fire stations or volunteer at one of our weekly distribution events. - Senior Pet Care: Deliver supplemental pet food and supplies to homebound clients through our pet care program. - Cancer Services Assistant: Assist with check-in procedures and clerical/administrative duties to ensure smooth operations. You can even volunteer with a group! For more information: https://lnkd.in/gVBXSHv #BeingThereMatters #VolunteerColumbus

Our corporate office had a fantastic Volunteer Day with LifeCare Alliance on May 17th! We had the privilege of packing meals into coolers for Meals-on-Wheels routes, and it was such a rewarding experience. We are proud to support this incredible organization that provides nutritious meals and offers so many other programs to those in need. A huge thank you to LifeCare Alliance for allowing us to be part of such a meaningful cause. #Volunteer #GivingBack #LifeCareAlliance #MealsOnWheels #CommunitySupport #PrestigeStorageVolunteerDay

Last month, Columbia’s Columbus DE&I team partnered up with the catering team at LifeCare Alliance to prepare for Big Wheels, LifeCare’s premier fundraising event. Big Wheels raises money to support the many programs that LifeCare runs, including Meals-on-Wheels, Help-at-Home and the LifeCare Alliance Cancer Center, among others. Thank you to the Columbus DE&I team for your volunteer efforts, and to LifeCare Alliance for supporting our neighbors and community members in need!
