Our progressive Design-Build partnership with MiraCosta College, Architects Mosher Drew, and our engineering design team began with a comprehensive discovery exercise with the Construction Manager, Department Directors, and Facility Personnel. The building’s current function was identified, to be carried forward, and the teams vision and goals for the future use of the building were established. As the design progressed, design charrettes were held on a regular basis with all team members to ensure that the design continued to meet their vision and goals. As the basic design took shape, the team continued to have additional detailed info gathering sessions with the end users regarding how to tailor the building to the most efficient and economical use. The end result was a major success. The renovation and expansion of the library now includes a welcoming lobby with plenty of daylighting, new faculty office spaces, extensive MEP upgrades, acoustic upgrades to promote focused work, new flexible learning centers, open spaces that promote team collaboration, an advanced computer lab, and new workshop spaces/classrooms. #HigherEducation #CommunityLearning #FlexibleLearningSpaces #InnovativeSpaces #InnovativeLibrarySpaces #BuildingAtTheHighestLevel

Longfellow Real Estate Partners celebrated the Topping Out Ceremony for the firm’s latest development, Avia Labs at Millbrae Station in the San Francisco Bay Area portfolio. The topping off marks a major milestone for the next phase of the Avia Labs project, a six-story, 315,000 SF campus with state-of-the-art office and lab space. Avia Labs will be one of California's first all-electric life science campuses, designed to LEED Gold and Fitwel certifications with an array of environmentally focused attributes that support its transit-oriented location, which is less than three miles from San Francisco International Airport and steps from the Millbrae Transit Center. As the development advances to its 2025 delivery date, 39.5K cubic yards of concrete have been placed and 12.8M pounds of rebar installed. Longfellow will finalize Avia Labs' diverse campus amenities such as its fitness center, terrace with mountain views, large conference spaces, and a public café open to the community. We are excited to see Longfellow’s continued growth throughout the Bay Area region with innovative and dynamic life science companies and institutions. Hitting a major milestone at Harrington Heights, a 195,275 SF, 14-story affordable housing development that includes 273 studio and two-bedroom units, below ground parking, commercial spaces, and a lobby. Seeking LEED Gold certification.
