LegacyWorks by Legacy Ministries, Inc. provides services to youth ages 14-19 with social support, life skills training and workforce development to increase graduation rates and promote equitable skill attainment for success in the workforce. Youth can enter our programs by referral through partnering agencies and applying for employment. The youth employees have scheduled part-time hours completing tasks related to the LegacyWorks program they have applied for. They also take part in uniquely designed curriculum that includes developmental workshops, success plans, and eventual transition plans to increase their professionalism, workplace confidence, and lead to job placement or further education. Through their employment, they can work through a four-tiered system based on their employment status and developmental stage. These tiers involve advancement in their job as well as personal and professional development.
LegacyWorks is comprised of three social enterprises: GardenWorks is a small urban farm that provides fresh organic produce to our community through a Harvest Share subscription (also known as Consumer Supported
Agriculture). PotteryWorks is a small pottery studio that produces a line of housewares and planters made available through our website, and the Old Town Farm and Art Market. CoffeeWorks is a small batch roastery
that features locally roasted and ethically sourced coffee beans also made available through our website via subscription or single purchases as well as Old Town Farm and Art Market.
