Leavitt Partners is so pleased to have co-hosted with Friedreich's Ataxia Research Alliance (FARA) an amazing Roundtable on effective inclusion of children earlier in clinical trials. FDA and National Institutes of Health leadership expressed their support for working towards this goal, and multistakeholder panels meaningfully discussed opportunities and challenges. Leavitt Partners’ Amy Comstock Rick and Friedreich's Ataxia Research Alliance (FARA)'s Ron Bartek led the effort and look forward to advancing their combined mission for earlier pediatric inclusion to bring better treatments and cures to so many children and families who need them.

Congratulations to the American Indian Medical Education Strategies Alliance on welcoming Dr. Donald Warne as the leader of this important alliance. Dr. Warne's experience, education, and lived experience will elevate the work already being done to improve access to quality healthcare in tribal communities. This is an excellent example of how the Leavitt Center for Alliances, now part of Health Management Associates, works to convene stakeholders around complicated policy issues to bring clarity and alignment. We are proud to continue this work building on the legacy of our founder, Michael Leavitt. https://lnkd.in/ghY96XUB

Join Leavitt Partners and Friedreich's Ataxia Research Alliance (FARA) for a Pediatric Inclusion Roundtable. The day will begin with discussions with FDA and The National Institutes of Health leadership on their vision for effective pediatric inclusion, followed by multi-stakeholder panel discussions centered around FDA’s three medical product centers: CDER, CBER, and CDRH. We invite all stakeholders to join our discussions regarding the need for including children earlier in clinical development, the requirements for doing so, and stakeholder barriers. Great opportunity for those innovating in rural healthcare delivery. #valuebasedcare #ruralhealthcare
Rural and Tribal health advocates, assemble! The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services Innovation Center just announced that it will be holding its 2024 Rural Heath Hackathon in August with in-person events in Montana, North Carolina, and Texas. The goal of this event is "to generate new ideas to address some of the top challenges impacting health care in rural health settings and drive action to improve clinical outcomes, increase access, and better care experience for both patients and providers in rural communities." As Tribal communities are some of the most underserved populations in rural areas, it will be critical that these discussions include ways that CMS can partner with Tribal nations and non-Tribal organizations to reduce physician and other workforce shortages in rural Tribal medical facilities. Expanding GME programs would be a great solution! Learn more here: https://lnkd.in/eRwMHihE Elizabeth Palmarozzi; David J. Park,; Drew Babcock; Cindra Stahl; LeeAnna Muzquiz, Joshua Goldberg

The National Academy of Medicine recently announced the Commission on Investment Imperatives for a Healthy Nation with the goal of identifying "transformative actions" to improve our healthcare system. The Commission will address multiple areas, each which has a separate workgroup digging deep into the issues. I'm pleased to announce that I am co-chair of the Health Financing and Accountability workstream with Carrie Colla, and we have the privilege to work with a group of twenty-ish experts in the field. We've already been hard at work and I look forward to more good work from this broader commission in the months and years to come. https://lnkd.in/gMTHdEsX
