Safety is the cornerstone of everything we do. That’s why we’re proud to say that the Quality Control Department (QC) of our Advanced Interlayer Solutions Division has been accident-free for a significant 6000 days! This team handles up to 50 tonnes of raw glass per year – a delicate, risk-prone material that requires proper handling – so this is a huge achievement. But they’re not stopping there – the team is now working towards its next goal of being 7000 days accident-free. Creating a safe working environment is always a top priority at Kuraray. Our high standards, rigorous processes and routine safety talks and reminders make a difference. We’ve had an Olympics of our own at Kuraray this summer! 🏉🏃♀️ Our company culture is built on our teamwork – so this summer, our team laced up their running shoes to take part in sporting events to strengthen bonds and support the communities we work in. Runners from team Kuraray took part in the J.P. Morgan Corporate Run, hitting the pavement to support Laureus, an organisation that promotes transformative sports programmes for young people in disadvantaged areas, and the Deutsche Behindertensportjugend (DBSJ),the youth arm of the German Disabled Sports Association. But that’s not all! Our team also took part in the Firmenlauf Bonn company run, helping strengthen team bonds outside of the office, and a group of soccer enthusiasts competed in the Business Cup 2024, a football tournament for German companies. Excitingly, our football team made it all the way to the finals in Düsseldorf! We’re proud of the enthusiasm, sportsmanship and team spirit our colleagues brought to every one of these challenges – and we’re looking forward to more events to come! 𝟱𝗚 𝗧𝗿𝗼𝗶𝘀𝗱𝗼𝗿𝗳 𝗜𝗻𝗱𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗱𝘁𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗸: 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗰𝗹𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝗮 𝗟𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗺𝗮𝗿𝗸 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁 Last Thursday, the closing event of the BMDV-funded 5G Troisdorf project was celebrated at the Troisdorf City Hall, attended by prominent figures, including Director for Digital Connectivity at the Bundesministerium für Digitales und Verkehr Gertrud Husch, Mayor of Troisdorf Alexander Biber, and Member of the Landtag Katharina Gebauer. The consortium explored how the 5G mobile standard can be utilized in industry, opening up new opportunities within the context of Industry 4.0. Two notable implementations demonstrated on-site were a forklift with installed 5G sensors for intelligent fleet management and the 5G Toolkit. The latter, a digital twin visualized through AR/VR technology, enables remote maintenance across continents—a significant step towards the industrial metaverse. Additionally, other 5G projects had the opportunity to present their work to the interested attendees. Reflecting on this truly special project led by Fraunhofer-Institut für Angewandte Informationstechnik FIT, it's important to highlight the strong collaboration between the SME ZWi Technologies GmbH and the international tech corporation Kuraray Europe GmbH, which was further facilitated during the project. The involvement of the economic development agency of Troisdorf TROWISTA | Die Wirtschaftsförderer and the municipal telecommunications provider TroiLine provided strong ties into the region, fostering regional knowledge transfer regarding the 5G technology and its implementation. Fraunhofer FIT, ILAG, and our RWTH Institute for Technology and Innovation Management (TIM), represented by our senior researcher Valerie Starke, provided the scientific accompaniment. Alongside developing business models for 5G, Valerie Starke focused on identifying and overcoming non-technical challenges in implementing these models, such as personal and organizational hurdles. Her work underscores that digital transformation is not solely about technology but is highly influenced by human factors. We are grateful for the opportunity to participate in such an innovative project and to collaborate with such a diverse and skilled team. Many thanks to the organizing team for this outstanding closing event! 📺 German local TV reported about the event: https://lnkd.in/e_HAMSHw 💻 Project Website: https://lnkd.in/eAge78UP #5G #Industry40 #DigitalTransformation #Innovation #TechnologyManagement
