The grand opening of SKIMS in Miami's Aventura Mall marks one of the most stunning and creative retail projects AGNORA has fabricated to date!  These custom doorways are amazingly large in their own right, but the pièce de résistance is the hand-made, ALL GLASS, SKIMS lettering produced by glass artist Ally Reza and laminated by AGNORA   This creative project was extensively tested, and refined over several months to create one-of-a-kind glass. Ensuring the letters retained a level of customization but were also flat enough to be laminated to the oversized storefront glass was arduous, but the results of such an effort are striking!    At a whopping 94"H x 120"W, these 2-ply, 3/8" Pilkington Architectural Glass OptiWhite are assembled with impact resistance, longevity and optical clarity in mind blending the use of Kuraray SentryGlas and Trosifol.  The result is an elegant, minimal look, that highlights the incredible interior in an entirely new and unique way. #retaildesign #retail #retailstorefront #retailstoredesign #skims #glass #customglass #blownglass #glassfacade #glassfabrication #facadelovers #facades #jumboglass #bigglass #glazing #glazier #architecture #retailarchitecture #architects

PENN 2, New York Penn 2 has been transformed to represent the future of workplaces as part of the broader redevelopment program within the Penn District. The 1.75 million square foot renovation and expansion breathes new life into the gateway of Seventh Avenue, perched atop North America’s busiest transit hub, Penn Station. It is seamlessly integrated with diverse amenities across a connected site and is located directly above the station. With its eye-catching design, PENN 2 is transforming the heart of Manhattan, creating a contemporary workplace, and reviving a major public area. As part of the Two Penn Plaza project, the plaza and its neighboring stores were completely renovated, and more leasable space was added to the fourth and sixth floors of the structure. Soffit lighting and signage, new balconies, structurally strengthened glass storefronts, and eye-catching entry canopies at street level are some notable changes. The new Bustle building on 7th Ave. features insulated units surrounding it and a state-of-the-art triple-glazed curtainwall system covering the tower to increase energy efficiency. Expansive glass railings, logia enclosures that climb the tower corners, and large glass storefronts all add to the project's contemporary style. FlashBack Friday! Elbphilharmonie, Hamburg The Elbphilharmonie is one of the largest and most acoustically advanced concert halls in the world and an outstanding example of modern architecture. The complex includes a philharmonic hall, a chamber music hall, restaurants, bars, a panorama terrace with views of Hamburg and the harbor, apartments, a hotel, and parking facilities. These varied uses are combined in one building, much like a city. The glass façade, with curved and carved panels, transforms the building into a giant, iridescent crystal, whose appearance changes with the reflections of the sky, water, and city. This combination of tradition and modernity in the Elbphilharmonie, a symbol of Hamburg’s Hafen City, was designed by architects Herzog & de Meuron. The glass façade includes insulating panels totaling 21,800 square meters, of which approximately 5,000 square meters are curved, glossy double-glazed units. The spherically curved panels were printed and coated before being bent at approximately 550°C to precise specifications. Each panel is unique, with the thickness calculated specifically for the intended use of the space. Secrets Moxche, Playa del Carmen One of the most cutting-edge Caribbean resorts, Secrets Moxche Playa del Carmen is a member of the AMR Collection and is known for its adaptable architecture. There are a total of seven pools within the resort, including an indoor pool with a beach theme and three man-made cenotes. Ample conference space and a spa are also available. What makes it unique, though, is its adaptability; it has seven different lounge sections, a foyer for the ballroom, and an amphitheater for performances. In honor of the indigenous people that lived there, the design takes its cues from the storied Mayan tradition. The hotel's use of laminated glass, with its SentryGlas® interlayer, allows guests to enjoy the breathtaking ocean vistas while also being protected from hurricanes. Beijing Sub-Center Library, China The Beijing City Library stands out in this digital era, changing the way libraries are perceived and used. Conceived as more than just a library, this Beijing institution has evolved into a dynamic hub for community participation, learning, and connectivity, all within the bustling sub-center.  An astounding commitment to promoting human connections is central to this architectural wonder. It's a vibrant hub where people come together, spark ideas, and build relationships. This groundbreaking project's extraordinary glass infrastructure serves as its focal point. A remarkable feat of engineering, the library's front is made up of 276 enormous glass panels, each measuring 2.5 meters in width and 15.3 meters in height, with 138 pieces of laminated glass each section reinforced with SentryGlas® Xtra™ (SGX™). Each of these enormous panels weighs an incredible 11.5 tons, and their seven layers of high-performance glass add up to an impressive 133mm in thickness. The Beijing City Library is a noteworthy example of architectural brilliance, yet its vastness and spectacle aren't the only things worth praising. As the highest self-supporting glass curtain wall structure in the world, its four uninterrupted glass walls, cleverly folded into new lines, pose a threat to conventional support systems. Beyond mere form, the library's design philosophy is an ode to eco-friendliness. With its glass façade that brings nature indoors while presenting an elegant, modern façade, the Beijing City Library has achieved China's most prestigious environmental award, the GBEL Three Star certification. A new benchmark for ecologically conscious design, it reduces carbon in both its embodied and operational forms.
