What makes a board placement successful? KTG Co-Founder Edward Koller III shares his insights on the critical factors that ensure new board members thrive. From our partnership with the Women On Boards Project, we've learned that clear alignment from the start is key. When founders, CEOs, and board members agree on the desired experience, role, and time commitment for an independent director, it sets everyone up for success.
At the Women On Boards Project, we pride ourselves in our unique and impactful approach to board placements. Over the years, our team has identified key differentiating features that set successful placements apart. We're excited to share these insights with you through a series of posts featuring the voices and expertise of our dedicated team members. First up is Edward Koller III, co-founder of KTG Search. With extensive experience overseeing numerous placements, Eddie has a wealth of knowledge to share. In this audio snippet, he shares what, in his robust experience, truly makes a placement stand out and succeed. Follow us for more valuable advice from our team in this series and beyond! #BoardDiversity #WomenOnBoards #BoardroomSuccess

Now, it's time to introduce you to OUR board—the leaders behind Women On Boards Project. Their energy and passion keep us moving forward. Yes, W Project is a non-profit, but it’s also a movement. Partner Appreciation Post: Thank you KTG ❤️ When we started the Women On Boards Project four years ago, we knew we needed to build partnerships with folks that intimately knew the candidates we wanted to place. That was (and continues to be) part of our secret sauce, after all. We are putting together a slate of candidates that, in some cases, we’ve known for years and can extensively describe their career successes and leadership approach. But (for good reason), we were skeptical we could ever partner with a search firm because, frankly, nearly all of them take the approach of “what’s in it for me”. But not KTG. Edward Koller III, Kristin Tucker, Sarah Spellman and the entire KTG team are different… they get it. They joined our organization in its infancy and are such a critical component of how we operate and why it’s worked. Fast forward, Kristin became a board member of the W Project and together we waddled our very pregnant bodies across NYC and SF meeting with our incredible sponsors. They’re dear friends. And most importantly, they’re exceptionally talented at what they do - both in their capacity supporting the W Project but also leading executive search across the consumer industry. If your company is expanding its executive team, I hope they’re the first partners you call. And if your career has been impacted by their hard work, I hope you’ll give them a shoutout of love in the comments too.
