Kode With Klossy creates learning experiences and opportunities for young women and gender expansive youth.

About us

Founded in 2015 when supermodel and entrepreneur Karlie Kloss began learning to code, Kode With Klossy creates learning experiences and opportunities for young women, gender nonconforming, and trans students that increase their confidence and inspire them to pursue their passions in a technology driven world. This summer Kode With Klossy will be hosting free in-person camps across the United States and in London, UK, as well as continuing their successful virtual offering. Virtual programs are open to eligible applicants, no matter where they are located. Each camp is led by two instructors who are trained in our custom curriculum and two instructor assistants, who are alumni of the program who get the opportunity to return in a peer leadership role. During camps, scholars cram a semester’s worth of learning into two short weeks - from front-end to back-end engineering concepts, a series on the culture of technology, and project work with all camps culminating in a demo day where scholars showcase a project they’ve built (a website or mobile app) to their friends and family. Learning how to code through Kode With Klossy gives young women so much more than an employable skill. The experience and environment provide a framework for our scholars to feel confident and succeed in anything they do in the future. Introducing Amira (she/they), embodying tech for change! 🌟 A four-time KWK scholar, Amira is no stranger to the impact of code. In their latest project with Malikah, they've been crafting programs to uplift and inspire young Arabs, fostering a sense of empowerment and connection. From adapting curriculum to bridging generational divides, their work is making waves in gender justice and community empowerment. 🌊 "Joining KWK, I did not care nor see myself in Computer Science. Coding was cool, but I never had the resources to try it... When I did [mobile] app dev, I got the hang of it which allowed me to merge the social justice and humanities side of my brain with the other half that is interested on the what, whys, and hows, of CS." Looking ahead, Amira envisions herself graduating with a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, where she'll channel her passion into coding impactful apps and websites. The goal? To revolutionize tech, making it more sustainable and accessible while seamlessly connecting vulnerable communities to vital resources. 🚀💻 Join us in celebrating Amira's journey of empowerment and innovation! 🎉 Apply now to pursue your passions through code!! #KodeWithKlossy kodewithklossy.com/camp
