About us
Kids Included Together (KIT) is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded in San Diego, CA in 1997. KIT envisions a world where inclusion is the norm, not the exception because children with disabilities, complex needs or challenging behaviors have the right to meaningfully participate in their communities. The lives of ALL children are enhanced through shared experiences and friendships with peers who may or may not have disabilities. In addition, inclusive practices foster self-determination for children with disabilities. In support of a more inclusive world, KIT teaches inclusive practices to individuals and organizations who serve children to change their attitudes and practices. KIT training breaks down barriers to inclusion and builds confidence in serving ALL children. Learning about inclusion enriches the lives of ALL who participate and increases understanding and acceptance of disabilities as a natural part of life. KIT provides best-in-class inclusion training on-site and online through the KIT Online Learning Center. KIT also provides observations, consultations and recommendations to ensure organizations are confident in serving ALL children, regardless of ability. KIT is committed to developing the capacity of individuals and organizations to embrace inclusion. Visit www.kitonline.org to learn more about our work across the United States and internationally. Did you know that July is Disability Pride Month and also the 34th Anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)? It's celebrated every July as an opportunity to honor the history, achievements, experiences, and struggles of the disability community and to committ ourselves to creating a more inclusive and accessible world for all. Every child with a disability has unique talents and skills. But, did you know that inclusive classrooms can reduce the achievement gap by 50% for students with disabilities? 90% of students with disabilities perform better academically when they are included in general education settings. At KIT, we have seen the power of inclusion and the incredible potential of every child. Join us in celebrating Disability Pride Month and the 34th Anniversary of the ADA by advocating for inclusive environments where all kids can learn, grow, and thrive together. Let's make every space a place where diversity is celebrated and every child feels valued. #DisabilityPrideMonth #InclusionForAll #KIT #CelebrateDiversity
