As my internship at K2 Medical Research has come to an end, I would like to thank everyone at K2 for this unique experience through the summer exploration program.   Over this past month, I had the privilege of learning about a wide range of topics in clinical research from many amazing site leaders and community partners at K2. These topics included Alzheimer's research, NASH, GAP, diversity, and community outreach.   I also gained valuable hands-on experience with lab and pharmacy practices, prescreening and rating scales, fibroscans, and marketing.   Thanks again to everyone at K2 who gave their time to share their expertise and insight. You all have given me a better understanding of clinical research, and I am excited to apply what I have learned to my future!

Proud to say that I had both the honor and privilege of developing and leading K2 Medical Research ‘s inaugural Summer Internship Program. 13 college students spent the last few weeks learning from many of our experienced site leaders as well as community partners.

Exciting news! Lilly's #KisunlaTM (donanemab-azbt) has been approved by the #FDA for the treatment of early symptomatic #Alzheimer's disease. In its pivotal Phase 3 study, Kisunla demonstrated significant benefits, including slowing cognitive and functional decline by up to 35% compared to placebo at 18 months. It also reduced the risk of progressing to the next clinical stage of the disease by up to 39%. Kisunla is the first and only amyloid plaque-targeting therapy that offers a limited-duration treatment regimen based on amyloid plaque removal, potentially resulting in lower costs and fewer infusions. This approval brings hope to those affected by Alzheimer's disease and offers the potential to improve their quality of life! #hope #Alzheimersresearch #newtreatment
