#HopkinsBloombergCenter hosted the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health's “#HOPEChallenge: Promoting Health Equity by Reducing Gun Violence in Communities of Color” earlier this month. The event featured expert panelists discussing solutions to gun violence. Gun violence is one of the most pressing health issues of our time, with the gun death rate among children and teens increasing by 87% over the last decade. Experts argued that reducing gun violence will require addressing the root causes like housing, food insecurity, unemployment and mental health concerns.
