Honored. 🤍 These are just a few of the words that express how I feel as I reflect on our 111th year of service. ❤️ Thankful I am Thankful for all of you, the Members of the Junior League of Washington (JLW), for supporting me and my charge to Go & Grow this year. It has been a highlight to see so many of you Grow in your leadership, Grow in our community service, and Grow in our fund development strategies. ❤️PROUD I am Proud of the work you, our members, have all done to help ourselves, our committees, our League and our community Go & Grow this year! I am Proud to have supported our community partners with our volunteers, our resources and our treasure. I am Proud of this year’s Board of Directors for having tough conversations this year and leaning on governance and what is best for the League overall, as we talked about how to help JLW Grow successfully for the future. ❤️HONORED I am beyond Honored to have had the privilege to serve as the 85th President of the Junior League of Washington in our 111th year. The AJLI Awards Program, celebrated each year during Annual Conference, celebrates the work of thousands of women Leaders and Leagues who make real and lasting contributions in their communities. 🏆 Congratulations to the Junior League Of Washington, D.C., winner of the 2024 AJLI Excellence Award! This is a new AJLI award category, and is given to Leagues that have been successful in elevating the prestige and relevance of The Junior League Mission, including factors such as growth in their membership, DEIB best practices, overall marketing and public relations, demonstrated effects of partnerships/collaborations, overall quality of leadership training and best practices in volunteer action. The Junior League of Washington (JLW) has established impactful partnerships and collaborations with external organizations and community partners. These partnerships have expanded their reach and impact, allowing them to better serve and support the community. JLW’s community impact focuses supporting pathways to opportunity across the greater Washington, DC metropolitan area, including community partnerships focusing on childhood and adult literacy, supporting women in transitional housing, and mentoring at-risk youth.
