In Mexico, our Queretaro team packed 500 feminine care kits for young women and girls from our community who do not have access to sanitary pads. Menstrual poverty affects 1 in 4 girls and teenagers. Thank you to all our international volunteers for your #CourageToCare!

Kristen Gallo is a part of the IPride Employee Networking Circle, which is one of the four voluntary employee led groups at International Paper. Kristen shares how she values having a safe space to learn and connect with others from the LGBTQ+ community and allies #ProudToBeIP

We’re dedicated to helping schools reach their educational goals. Many IP team members read at schools and volunteer as mentors for students. But what about teachers? To help teachers sharpen their craft, we hosted Renita Bryant, a STEM teacher at Memphis School of Excellence, in partnership with the Greater Memphis Chamber. With a rich 14-year history in education, Renita took an externship at IP to better teach her high school students in business and marketing. “A lot of times students don't know about a lot of careers,” Renita said. “I thought this was a great segue to learn more about the corporate side and to go back and integrate that into my classroom, as well as getting my students more excited about actually going into the workforce or helping them figure out different pathways.” Renita spent two quick weeks with IP during her summer break. Her days were packed with learning and shadowing people across every aspect of IP from Packaging, Recycling and Containerboard to Ethics and Finance. “Now, I’m able to share that knowledge with my students and say, ‘Hey, there are opportunities for you to have a chance to get your foot in the door and then learn more about industries,'" she said.
