On February 26, Imogen’s birthday, we are hosting a cocktail party to kick off a yearlong fundraising campaign to support children and families with quality programs that prioritize mental wellness and social and emotional learning. The Imogen Foundation has just had a very successful year of major expansion! Our first in-person afterschool programs opened in just two schools in 2021. Today, we partner with eight public elementary schools to serve more than 1500 children after school. We deliver innovative early childhood education programs for nearly 200 children in seven pre-k locations. We deploy social workers to schools to support children and families. We provide paid internships to dozens of teenagers from NYC public high schools. We ensure equitable access to our programs by offering need-based financial aid and by providing extra staff and resources to accommodate children with special needs. As of the writing of this message, Imogen Foundation has given out more than $300,000 in financial aid this school year so far. And the number of requests keeps increasing. We are very proud of this record of family support. It is our earnest hope that this support will continue to grow, and that our programs can serve more and more families in need. On Imogen's birthday, come raise a glass to Imogen's special brand of kindness, compassion, and active listening. Her friends used to say that she was the one who listened. Her legacy is an organization dedicated to children everywhere feeling heard.
