Shot this VP demo live on our 20x20 VP stage built into our garage. We used #unreal to build the environment, Bolt JR to program the movement, OBS studio to add live luts, shaders, music, and triggers. We Animated the ship landing to be triggered through our streamdeck to time with actor performance. No post time at all. What you see was recorded in real time from OBS. I used a Red Raptor with Fuji glass, and rigged a peace of square glass with a leko off set to trigger a lens flare practically as the virtual sun is revealed in frame. We pride ourselves in getting high quality virtual production with no post time, live to tape. I'll be at #NAB2024 all week checking out new tech and ways we can continue to optimize our workflow. Made this Dune inspired virtual production demo for open house yesterday at HyperRPG. We used our LED volume, Unreal, OBS and captured it all with our newly upgraded RED Digital Cinema V-Raptor with global shutter. We triggered the ship animation, used shaders in OBS, and lens crystals in front of camera to record live and maximize what's possible using realtime. It's mind boggling how fast filmmaking technology is evolving and what's possible for a crew of three.
