We get it. We know that “Human Resources,” doesn’t exactly conjure up exciting images of business growth and entrepreneurship. This is exactly why we started HR Kickstart. HR isn't our first love either. You know what we love? Business Growth and People. We are entrepreneurs who love to support other entrepreneurs. So why do we run an HR company? Well, here’s what we know… Too often, entrepreneurs view Human Resources as a “necessary evil,” and will invest in every possible thing they can BEFORE hiring HR help. Why? Because HR is not seen as an ‘investment,’ it’s seen as an ‘expense’ We want to change that, one business at a time. Quite simply, HR Kickstart is a business growth consulting firm that uses innovative and cost-effective strategies to make sure your business attracts, develops and retains its most valuable asset. The people!

    This is the same kind of advice we offer our clients regarding salary offers. If the person is a great fit, and everything is aligned, don't try to cut corners! It's more costly in the long run for everyone.

    HR: What's your salary expectation?" Candidate: £42,000 to £44,000 a year. HR: You are the best-fit for the role but we can only offer £38,000. Candidate: Okay. £38,000 would be fine. HR: How soon can you start? Meanwhile the budget for that particular role is £45,000 the company feels like they did a great job in salary negotiation and management will be happy they cut cost for the organisation. The new employee starts and notices the pay disparity. Guess what happens? Dissatisfaction. Disengagement. Disloyalty. Two months later, the employee leaves the organization for a better job. The recruitment process starts all over again. Leading to further costs and performance gaps within the team and organisation. In order to attract and retain top talent, please pay people what they are worth.

We often think staying silent is the easier option to “keep the peace.” But in the long run, that strategy is actually very costly.     Our two founders wrapped up a great 36 hours in Washington, DC with two of our news media clients. Always fun to be able to visit clients onsite and connect face to face with their employees. Most of our clients have either a hybrid work scenario or are fully remote, but often when we are onsite, they like to meet with us and share first hand what’s going on at work. Today there were quite a few leadership team meetings taking place. We have some new positions coming soon here in our company, so stay tuned to our page to learn about those opportunities!
