Bio-Rad is proud to sponsor of the HOSA Competitive Event in Biotechnology, which provides students with the opportunity to master core skills and explore career opportunities in medical biotechnology. We were very impressed by the competitors' skills, preparation, and professionalism - congratulations to you all! Other conference highlights included Bryony Ruegg being named to the HOSA-100 National Advisory Council, the many engaging conversations with advisors and students during our two workshops and in-booth hands-on biotech activities, interactions with our partners Biotility and National Consortium for Health Science Education (NCHSE), and our first-ever participation in pin trading! I attended the HOSA-Future Health Professionals international competition, ILC, this past week and gained a lot of insight into the field of medicine. I was given the opportunity to attend many workshops ranging in topics from prosthetics to the path to med school. This also gave me the chance to network with many professionals and learn from their experiences as well as the experiences of other attendees across the globe. I also had the opportunity to participate in the GoBabyGo project, where I along with a team of HOSA students modified a Power Wheels car to better appropriate children with disabilities. I am also thrilled to share that I placed 5th internationally in the 2024 HOSA ILC. The competition tested my quick thinking and speaking skills. I can not thank my advisors and peers enough for all the help they provided throughout this surreal journey.

This past June, I had the honor of hosting the HOSA-Future Health Professionals 47th Annual International Leadership Conference, alongside an empowering team of seven other officers, incredible ILC staff, and the wonderful HOSA HQ staff who work year-round to ensure the success of this impeccable organization. With over 12,600 attendees, the conference featured 11,000 hardworking competitors, 600 healthcare industry partners, 162 exhibitors at the HOSA Expo, and 145 phenomenal workshop leaders. This four-day event in Houston, Texas was a hub of innovation, where the passion for healthcare and the drive for service were palpable. Every moment both on and off stage was electrifying, from meaningful conversations with state advisors to networking with VIP guests and partners, to inspiring interactions with phenomenal student leaders. Serving as the International Secondary Board Representative this past year has been an absolute honor. My journey through HOSA-Future Health Professionals has profoundly impacted my professional and personal life, laying the foundation for my future in healthcare. In my role this past year, I am proud to have dedicated myself to supporting our 291,000+ members and furthering HOSA's mission of advancing the next generation of healthcare professionals. Through my service, I have developed a multitude of skills, including servant leadership, content creation, networking, event organization, and project management. This wonderfully chaotic week in Houston proved that endings can be beautiful too. Now, as I "dare to create" the future I've always dreamed of, I am excited to take everything HOSA has taught me over these past five years, and continue learning, leading, serving, and innovating in my healthcare journey.
