Thank you to the Los Angeles Times and The Los Angeles Times Entertainment for prominently featuring Holocaust Museum LA's newly launched Augmented Reality app that you can read about here. The app, an immersive learning tool that allows users to interact with a 3D model of the Nazi death camp Sobibor, was developed in partnership with Academy Award Winning Visual Development & Experience company Magnopus. Actor Ben Feldman serves as a holographic guide providing historical context and encouraging deeper exploration of the camp’s layout and daily life. Educating young students to think critically about the lessons of the Holocaust and its social relevance today is more crucial than ever. The AR app is available for free download in Apples App Store. We are grateful to the Jewish Community Foundation of Los Angeles, Cbs Television City Studios and the SNIDER FAMILY FOUNDATION for their generous support.

This past Friday, Holocaust Museum LA was proud to cosponsor a powerful conversation with Jewish Federation Los Angeles and two courageous survivors of the October 7th terrorist attack in Israel, along with the Anti-Defamation League, American Jewish Committee (AJC), JIMENA: Jews Indigenous to the Middle East and North Africa and Sinai Temple. ⁠ During the conversation — moderated by Senior Rabbi at Sinai Temple Nicole Guzik — Nova Music Festival survivors Danielle Sasi, a Los Angeles resident, and Lion Piv, a festival worker, bravely shared their compelling and heartbreaking accounts of that horrific day. ⁠ ⁠ We thank Assemblymembers Wendy Carrillo  and Mike Gipson for attending the event and presenting certificates to Danielle and Lion. On Monday Holocaust Museum LA hosted the 2nd Annual Building Bridges Golf Classic at El Caballero Country Club. All proceeds support the Museum’s work teaching the critical lessons and social relevance of the Holocaust. Now, more than ever, we must speak out against antisemitism, bigotry, and hatred in all forms. Golfers had the opportunity to partake in a Golf Clinic with none other than World Golf Hall of Famer Amy Alcott and enjoy a variety of unique activations on different holes. The day concluded with a reception and live auction, led by KTLA Morning News Anchor, Frank Buckley, where participants gathered to celebrate their achievements on the course and to further support Holocaust Museum LA. A big thank you to event chair Peter Best and Arthur Bernier and his team at Access Sports Limited, Inc. for bringing together a dedicated group to support our mission. Last week Holocaust Museum LA joined over 500 Jewish leaders and allies (including 100 students and young professionals), for the Jewish Public Affairs Committee of California (JPAC) Capitol Summit in Sacramento. ⁠ ⁠ Over 50 state legislators participated in the program, we heard from Gavin Newsom, and lobbied 106 legislative offices to counter antisemitism, hate speech, and violence in our schools. ⁠ The Governor – who has already been a strong and vocal Jewish ally before and after October 7th – was incredibly receptive to JPAC's requests for even more action, as seen by the recent announcement of his Golden State Plan to Counter Antisemitism.  ⁠ Holocaust Museum LA is proud to be part of JPAC. ⁠#JPACCapitolSummit #CAJewishVoice #HolocaustMuseumLA
