  • This is our last National Intern Day post for 2024, and we want to thank you for following along. We truly value our Hoffman interns, and this year's group has impressed us beyond measure - which is why we had to dedicate an entire day of our social media presence to them. Meet Jami (left) and Levi (right), who are both working at the University of Oregon on our Knight Campus Building 2 project. But get this, they're both currently Oregon State University students. Does this pose a significant social dilemma? Not for these two. They are consummate professionals and we are so glad they're a part of this project. Thank you Jami and Levi! And thank you to ALL of our interns! #NationalInternDay #NID #hoffmanbuilds

Isaiah is currently attending Boise State University. He also happens to be working on the Boise State University campus for his summer Hoffman internship and has the best commute of all our 28 interns. Isaiah is helping with tenant improvements at the Micron Center for Materials Research, a home for Boise State engineering students who are seeking to make contributions to a wide range of scientific disciplines. Hoffman Construction has started taking on more projects in the Boise area so we've recently opened an office there. Because we have to admit that we don't want to leave anytime soon. #NationalInternDay #NID #hoffmanbuilds

  • We have a few truly spectacular projects currently under construction in the Seattle area, one of which is changing the entire landscape of the Seattle Waterfront. And we are very lucky to have some outstanding interns working at some of these projects this summer. Avery is attending Harvey Mudd College and is working at the Sea-Tac Airport. Julia is attending University of Washington and is working at the Newhouse Building Replacement project. Grace currently attends Colorado State University and is spending her summer working at the Overlook Walk project at the Seattle Waterfront. Junior is currently attending Washington State University and is working at the Colman Dock. Connor is a student at California Polytechnic State University-San Luis Obispo and he’s working in West Seattle at the West Point Water Treatment Plant. It’s an exciting time for construction projects in Seattle and we love that we have such a talented team of interns that are a part of it. Thank you! #NationalInternDay #NID #hoffmanbuilds

  • Here are three of our Hoffman summer interns at one of our newest projects, a Hi-Tech project in Sunnyvale, CA. Dillon (on the left) is currently attending University of Washington. Eric (middle) is actually only a couple of months shy from graduating from California State University, Chico. And you've already met Davis (on the right) who's our Off-Site Manufacturing Project Engineer Intern. Eric...just a couple of months away from graduation. You do know where to find us, right?? ;) #NationalInternDay #NID #hoffmanbuilds

  • Lucas is another future engineer currently studying at Purdue University. He’s working at the Washington State Department of Social and Health Services project in Vancouver, Washington this summer. This project is a new, progressive long-term psychiatric care model that is comprised of three 16-bed structures on one site. This is a LEED Gold, Net Zero Ready facility. Lucas has been a valuable asset to this project and the team. When he's not working he's an avid tennis player, and we greatly appreciate him taking a break from the game so that he can help us move this project forward. #NationalInternDay #NID

Not all Hoffman’s interns are working out in the field at project sites this summer. The construction industry is comprised of many different areas of specialized operations and fields of expertise. We also have an entire administrative team to support our company. At Hoffman you'll find everything from engineering and estimating to human resources and accounting and much more. We have four interns working at our Oregon Main Office in downtown Portland this summer. From left to right: Marcus is currently attending University of Washington and is working in our Building Information Modeling/Virtual Design and Construction Department. Hayden is attending Chapman University and is working in both our Marketing and Human Resources Departments. Davis is studying at Villanova University and is our Off-Site Manufacturing intern. And Nahea is attending Oregon State University and is working in our Scheduling Department. These interns have made a big impression in their short time here and we are very glad they’ve chosen to spend their summer working with us. Thank you! #NationalInternDay #NID

  • Another one of our projects that you may have seen in the news lately is the Oregon State Capitol Accessibility, Maintenance and Safety Projects, or CAMS. Hoffman is refurbishing, replacing, and repairing various building elements and systems. We are also performing some new construction. Project Superintendent Josh Faulkner says that CAMS is one of the most innovative projects in the country right now mainly because the entire State Capitol building is being held up above 15 feet of excavated ground and it hasn’t moved more than one eighth of an inch. It’s certainly a unique project to be a part of, and we have four interns assigned to this project for the summer. Three of them are currently studying at Oregon State University. Standing outside of the Capitol are: Augie (left), John (second from right) and Mike (right). And Sierra (second from left) has joined us from Northern Arizona University. Thank you for being a part of this historic project! We greatly appreciate all your hard work! #NationalInternDay #NID #hoffmanbuilds

  • With just 20 days to go before the new PDX terminal opens, there’s good reason your feed might be filled with images of the Portland International Airport. Well, here’s one more. These three lucky interns have been assigned to work on the PDX Terminal Core Redevelopment project this summer – a vital expansion that ensures the Portland airport will be able to serve the community and millions of world travelers well into the future. Jamie (front) and Rylan (back left) are both currently attending Oregon State University. And Eileen (back right), who is a designated safety intern, is joining us from Northeastern State University in Oklahoma. Internships are inherently (and unfortunately) short in nature, so it’s incredibly fortuitous that our PDX T-Core interns will be here for the new terminal opening on August 14. We hope to see many of you there! #NationalInternDay #NID #flypdx #hoffmanbuilds

  • While the Tualatin Valley Water District has enough water for its residents today, projections show that their population is expected to increase by 82,000 people by 2042. They’ve partnered with the City of Hillsboro and City of Beaverton to create an additional water supply source. The Willamette Valley Water Supply Program intakes water from the Willamette River at Wilsonville and delivers it to a state-of-the-art water filtration facility near Sherwood. Over 30 miles of water lines were built to transport filtered water to water storage reservoirs. Hoffman is working in a joint venture with J.W. Fowler to construct the water storage reservoir, water quality testing facility, and build and install a portion of the pipes needed to distribute safe drinking water in the second most highly populated county in Oregon. When the project is complete it will be one of the most seismically-resilient water systems in the state. Jack is the Hoffman intern assigned to this vital community project. He’s currently studying at Oregon State University. You can see the water storage reservoir behind him, which stretches 300 feet in diameter and has a total storage capacity of 15 million gallons of water. We are very glad to have Jack help us bring this project closer to completion. You can read more about the project online at https://lnkd.in/gAn4AK5i. #NationalInternDay #NID #hoffmanbuilds
