  • A CLOSER LOOK: Human Resources In today's dynamic business landscape, the role of Human Resources (HR) has evolved from traditional personnel management to a strategic partner crucial for organizational success. As companies navigate through rapid technological advancements and changing workforce dynamics, HR professionals are at the forefront, driving policies that foster growth, innovation, and a positive workplace culture. Attracting top talent is a critical function of HR. In a competitive job market, innovative recruitment strategies are essential. This includes leveraging social media, employee referrals, and advanced applicant tracking systems. Equally important is employee retention. HR must implement effective onboarding processes, continuous learning opportunities, and clear career progression paths to keep employees engaged and committed. A diverse and inclusive workplace is crucial for fostering creativity and collaboration. HR plays a significant role in promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) through targeted initiatives and policies. By creating an environment where all employees feel valued and included, companies can harness a wide range of perspectives and ideas. At HVCH, the Human Resources team consists of Sheri Thompson, Payroll, Benefits, & Leave Coordinator, Amber Lehman, Human Resources Generalist, and Megan Wright, Chief Human Resources Officer. With over 40 years of experience at HVCH, Sheri is an automatic go-to as she is not only an expert in her role, but her organizational knowledge is abundant! Her care and commitment to our employees is commendable and hard to duplicate. Amber, while being new to her role in Human Resources, is also no stranger to all things HVCH. Over her nearly 10 years with HVCH, she has held a number of positions such as STNA, Education Assistant, and Education Coordinator. Spend a few minutes chatting with Amber about HVCH and it is evident why she has been promoted many times as she possesses people and organization skills combined with a work ethic and passion to do her best and help others. Rounding out the team is Megan who is the rookie to HVCH with 4 years of service, but she is no rookie to Human Resources. After more than 15 years in private healthcare and IT organizations, Megan transitioned to HVCH in 2020 and has found her “home” with HVCH. After years of higher education to obtain a bachelors and master’s degree, and with over 18 years of management and HR professional experience, Megan enjoys that each day in HR brings something new and different and offers novel subjects to learn about. Learning never ceases when in the Human Resources field and there is even more when working within healthcare.

  • The youngest of seven children, Jennifer Enderle is a lifelong resident of Logan. With five brothers and one sister, life was never dull. Unable to say her name correctly, she was nick-named “Fur-Fur” by her uncle. Throughout her growing-up years she had a love for the medical field but had yet to identify exactly where she would land her focus. Her parents pushed her forward, encouraging her to try new things, having her back through it all. She would find her way to HVCH as an employee, in the role of nurse extender in the Emergency Department, where she earned the nick-name Jenti. “We had a good crew and lots of fun,” says Enderle. After almost seven years in the Emergency Department, she was asked to work in Pain Management as secretary, doing scheduling, reviewing charges and assisting with outpatient clinics. Jennifer says, “While working at HVCH I have learned a lot, and there are so many people willing to help you. Things that I never dreamed of learning I have learned over the years, and I feel it has made me a better person.” She goes on to say that working in a smaller hospital, and knowing all your co-workers in all the different departments is wonderful. “It is nice to know if you need something, there is always somebody that has your back, no matter what department you’re from. It is very friendly and family oriented and I can’t complain about the drive and being close to home.” Outside of HVCH, she has been married for 16 years to husband Ryan, and is the mother of two children (daughter Rylyn, 15, and son Reed, who is 13.) “We enjoy our family time together and with extended family. We spend a lot of time traveling for sports volleyball, basketball, football and track. There is no doubt that my family is the most important thing in my life. In my spare time I really enjoy crafting and hanging out with my family and friends. If I had to say anything to my younger self, I would tell myself to not be afraid or hesitant, go with your gut and enjoy life,” says Jennifer.

  • CAUGHT BEING COOL "I want to take the time to say thank you to Latricia for her dedication and reassurance. I appreciate your outstanding service and accommodation to the last minute changes. I'm writing this review from Phoenix, AZ. My best friend ended up at Hocking Valley Community Hospital where they took great care of her. Due to me being in a different state and I was unable to come visit. I decided to go onto their website and purchase flowers from the gift shop and I selected to have them delivered the next day. Well, that very next day I got a notice that my friend was being transferred to different hospital for surgery and I was worried she wouldn't get her flowers. Latricia was quick to email me back, reassuring me that even though my best friend had been transferred, they'll make sure she still gets her flowers. Come to find out, Latricia hand delivered the flowers herself. She went above and beyond and I truly appreciate her dedication to the patients at Hocking Valley Community Hospital. Thank you again for the outstanding care."
