"Seeing them gain experience and confidence is incredibly rewarding.” Bruce White, our council's VP of Safe Scouting and Risk Management is honored with Lockton's Community Impact Award while serving on summer camp staff at H. Roe Bartle Scout Reservation. A 28-year veteran at Lockton currently as the VP and Loss Control Manager, Bruce has been transformative in making Safe Scouting a top priority in our council. Thanks to his dedication, Bruce was awarded a $25,000 donation to a charity of his choice on behalf of the Lockton family and he graciously chose the Heart of America Council. Thank you Bruce for all you do for Scouting and the Kansas City community! https://lnkd.in/gjcCxuHQ #communityimpact #safescouting #preparedforlife

As we get ready to say goodbye to the 2024 camping season, we have an urgent need for sawyers at both the H. Roe Bartle Scout Reservation and Theodore Naish Scout Reservation. Our 2024 Chainsaw Safety Training course is scheduled for November 1-3 at Naish and equips volunteers with the required training to assist with tree trimming and tree removal at our Scout camps. This course is provided at no cost and includes all meals and housing. Those wanting to help can register now at https://lnkd.in/eHV8gmps

A special summer camp presentation as Fr. Joe Powers was honored with the NESA Outstanding Eagle Scout Award (NOESA) following Catholic services at Bartle this week. The prestigious award recognizes adult Eagle Scouts for distinguished service to Scouting. Fr. Powers is the Scout Chaplain for the Diocese of Kansas City-St. Joseph and previously served as Chaplain for the National Catholic Committee on Scouting (NCCS). NOESA recipients have inspired others and have made a positive impact in our local communities through their involvement in Scouting and their professional careers. Thank you Fr. Powers for your continued service to Scouting here locally and across the country.
