We are always learning ways to serve our members better! One way we do this is with internal training and development. Staff from various departments became certified trainers after taking a recent three-day course with Global Learning Partners. This enables them to create customized employee learning experiences that engage both the head and heart. HPSM Dental is California State’s first-ever dental plan for Medi-Cal members that is fully integrated with medical and behavioral health care benefits. Ten years ago this month, the Affordable Care Act (ACA) expanded Medicaid to more low-income adults. It is fitting then that, starting on January 1, we began enrolling thousands of new members as California became the first state to cover all residents regardless of documentation status. That means over 15,000 of our Access to Care for Everyone (ACE) participants are transitioning to our Medi-Cal plan, which will provide expanded benefits (including dental) and a broader network of providers, all at no cost to the individual.
