CAT Alert: Tropical Storm Beryl Halliwell has mapped out the track of Tropical Storm Beryl from the National Hurricane Center 11:00 AM EDT Advisory (40). Beryl intensified to a Category 1 hurricane late last night offshore Matagorda Bay. Landfall occurred this morning near Matagorda, Texas and Beryl is now moving inland across the Houston metropolitan area as a strong tropical storm, with maximum sustained winds of 70 mph. Beryl is forecast to continue along a north/northeast track through east Texas today and into the Midwest this week. As it moves inland, rainfall is going to be the primary risk with this storm. The National Centers for Environmental Prediction have issued a moderate chance of excessive rainfall, leading to flash flooding along the track of Beryl. Sporadic flooding conditions have been reported in low-lying susceptible areas throughout Houston, Texas. Rainfall is expected to subside as the center of low pressure moves further inland, as radar imagery is showing dry conditions south of Beryl. The Halliwell CAT Response Team is prepared, has capacity, and is on standby ready to respond to any losses that might be brought by this storm. Please reach out to catclaims@halliwellglobal with any storm-related claims or with any questions regarding this storm. Please stay safe this hurricane season! #CATalert #2024CATseason #hurricaneberyl #Halliwell #claims

CAT Alert: Tropical Storm Beryl At 10:00 AM CDT with Advisory 32, the National Hurricane Center (NHC) indicated the center of Tropical Storm Beryl was located near latitude 23.0 North, longitude 92.3 West with maximum sustained winds near 60 mph (96 km/h) with higher gusts. Beryl is moving toward the west-northwest near 12 mph (19 km/h). A turn to the northwest is expected later today, followed by a turn toward the north-northwest by Sunday night. On the forecast track, the center of Beryl is expected to approach the Texas coast by late Sunday into Monday morning. Hurricane watch areas have been issued along the Texas coast from the mouth of the Rio Grande River northward to San Luis Pass and hurricane conditions are possible by early Monday, with tropical storm conditions beginning Sunday night. Tropical storm conditions are expected along the Texas coast south of Baffin Bay to the mouth of the Rio Grande River and northeastern coast of mainland Mexico from Barra el Mezquital to the mouth of the Rio Grande River late Sunday or Sunday night. A Storm Surge Watch is in effect for the Texas coast from the mouth of the Rio Grande River northward to High Island. Heavy rainfall of 5 to 10 inches with localized amounts of 15 inches is expected across portions of the Texas Gulf Coast and eastern Texas beginning late Sunday through the middle of next week. This rainfall will likely produce areas of flash and urban flooding, some of which may be locally considerable. Minor to isolated moderate river flooding is also possible. The National Hurricane Center will be issuing updates on Beryl with the next advisory scheduled for 5:00 PM EDT, this evening. The Halliwell CAT Response Team is prepared, has capacity, and is on standby ready to respond to any losses that might be brought by this storm. CAT Alert: Hurricane Beryl Halliwell has mapped out the updated forecast track of Hurricane Beryl from the National Hurricane Center’s (NHC) 11:00 AM Advisory (28). The intensity of Beryl has dropped to a Category 1 hurricane with maximum sustained winds currently estimated to be 85 mph. Landfall occurred this morning, at approximately 7:00 AM Eastern / 6:00 AM Central, northeast of Tulum, Mexico, and while the NHC estimated maximum sustained winds at 100 mph (consistent with a Category 2 Hurricane) during the prior advisory at 5:00 AM Eastern it is likely the most intense conditions were lower as Beryl’s condition was deteriorating prior to landfall. Beryl is forecast to degrade to a tropical storm this afternoon as the system transits the Yucatan Peninsula. The NHC is indicating that interests in Texas closely monitor the track and intensity of Beryl over the next 36 hours. As Beryl moves back over water into the Gulf of Mexico, re-intensification is forecast, however, to what degree is uncertain. A more intense storm is expected to impact locations further north and east along the Texas coast, whereas a weaker Beryl is anticipated to take a southerly track. The NHC anticipates issuing Hurricane and Tropical Storm watches along the Texas coast by this evening. The current forecast intensity by Sunday evening and Monday morning is as a Category 1 hurricane with maximum sustained winds of 85 mph offshore of South Padre Island. If Beryl were to intensify faster than forecast during the next two days, expect further rightward adjustments to the NHC track. Since the south Texas coast is along a north-south orientation, a more northward direction could quickly bring landfall towards Corpus Christi.  The National Hurricane Center will be issuing updates on Beryl with the next advisory scheduled for 5:00 PM EDT, this evening. The Halliwell CAT Response Team is prepared, has capacity, and is on standby ready to respond to any losses that might be brought by this storm. Please reach out to catclaims@halliwellglobal with any storm-related claims or with any questions regarding this storm. CAT Alert: Hurricane Beryl Halliwell has mapped the track of Hurricane Beryl from the National Hurricane Center (NHC) 11:00 AM EDT Advisory (20), today. The NHC advises that Hurricane Beryl is a Category 4 hurricane, with maximum sustained winds of 145 mph, and expects a track that remains immediately south of the southern coast of Jamaica. While the NHC does not expect the eye to fully impact the Island of Jamaica, the proximity of the track is expected to bring hurricane conditions onshore, especially in areas closest to the track on the southern part of the island. Following today, the NHC expresses greater uncertainty in the intensity of Beryl due to wind shear in the western Caribbean Sea. The NHC forecast is set to the higher-end of guidance and further weakening is expected, regardless of minor changes in the track near Jamaica. Landfall along the Yucatan peninsula is expected Friday morning, south of Tulum, Mexico, with maximum sustained winds of approximately 105 mph, within the range of a Category 2 hurricane. The NHC forecast tracks Beryl into the Gulf of Mexico where the expectation is a return to hurricane strength, as a Category 1 hurricane with maximum sustained winds of 75 mph. Uncertainty in days 4 and 5 (Saturday and Sunday) is greater and interests along the Mexico/Texas Gulf Coasts should monitor Beryl through the weekend as it transits the Yucatan peninsula. The NHC will continue advisories this evening at 5:00 PM and 11:00 PM EDT with intermediate updates to the intensity of the storm. The Halliwell CAT Response Team is prepared, has capacity, and is on standby ready to respond to any losses that might be brought by this storm. Please reach out to catclaims@halliwellglobal.com with any storm-related claims or with any questions regarding this storm. CAT Alert: Hurricane Beryl Beryl is a Category 5 Hurricane with maximum sustained winds of 160 mph. Halliwell has mapped the National Hurricane Center forecast track from the 11:00 AM Advisory (16) in the attached map. The updated forecast track has shifted approximately 50 miles north from the 5:00 PM advisory, yesterday, which increases the likelihood of direct impacts to Jamaica. The National Hurricane Center is forecasting Beryl to make landfall along the southern coast of Jamaica tomorrow, July 3, 2024, as a Category 3 or Category 4 Hurricane. Hurricane Warnings are in effect for the entire island of Jamaica, meaning that hurricane-force conditions are expected, and preparations should be completed as soon as possible. Localized rainfall totals may approach 12 inches. Conditions ahead in the forecast track in the Caribbean Sea are likely to become less favorable for Beryl over the next two days, leading the NHC to forecast gradual weakening. The northerly shift in the forecast track will bring Beryl closer to the Cayman Islands on Thursday, July 4th, and onshore south of Tulum, Mexico, on Friday, July 5th. Beryl is expected to make landfall in Mexico as a Category 1 Hurricane and weaken inland thereafter to a Tropical Storm. The current guidance tracks Beryl northwest as a Tropical Storm in the Gulf of Mexico towards northeastern Mexico and the Texas/Mexico border, Saturday and Sunday (July 6th and 7th).
