Registration is live for GridTECH Connect Forum - Northeast! Join us from October 28-30, 2024 in Newport, RI. New England has set ambitious #cleanenergy goals and is well on its way to weaning off fossil fuels, but major obstacles remain along the path to 100% #renewable #energy, including the intermittent nature of #wind and #solar, lack of land for large #utility-scale projects, and increasingly harsh weather. The region is tasked with modernizing its grid to account for more #distributed energy resources while maintaining stability- accounting for record peaks and an emerging duck curve- yet policy inconsistencies and regulatory barriers across state lines impede progress. GridTECH Connect Forum reposted this
After yet another impactful GridTECH Connect Forum, I want to share my gratitude to our amazing team, advisory board members, speakers, sponsors, and attendees who made this such an impactful event. Here are some parting thoughts after saying goodbye to Newport Beach: 🤝 There is an undeniable, shared desire among #utilities, #cleanenergy developers, and regulators to collaborate on the critical choke points facing the #energytransition. One of my favorite quotes of the week came from Vistra Corp.'s Cathleen Colbert: "I think about this like a ship. You can't just turn a ship on a dime." On that front, it was great to see California ISO and California Public Utilities Commission so well-represented across the event. Big thank you to Jill Powers and Gabe Petlin for making this happen. ☀ California is a global leader in fighting #climatechange, but there's much work to be done. One of our keynote speakers, Scale Microgrids co-founder Tim Hade, made the case that "Climate action is war, and California is Normandy." Check out this recap of his remarks here: https://lnkd.in/eYaqyTHf ⏰ We don't have time to continue working in silos. Southern California Edison (SCE) exec Shinjini Menon acknowledged that collaboration is the only way we can achieve our lofty #climate goals: “What got us here will not get us to where we need to go."

Ending the conference on a high note with the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) town hall! They're diving into the 5-year roadmap, focusing on implementing simpler, faster, and fairer #interconnection processes. The goal? Enhancing the reliability, resiliency, and security of our #distribution and #transmission #grid networks.
