FamilyWell Health, a tech-enabled behavioral health company that integrates specialized mental health services including coaching, therapy, and psychiatry into OB/GYN practices. FamilyWell’s comprehensive program includes in-person and virtual care and an on-demand text support line with live peer coaches for accessible emotional support. By leveraging the Collaborative Care Model (CoCM), FamilyWell utilizes evidence-based care proven to decrease depressive symptoms by at least 50%, reduces health disparities, and improves access to care, all while lowering the overall cost of care.   Founder Jessica (Schiffman) Gaulton MD, MPH has a clinical background and lived experience with perinatal behavioral health issues and has recruited a team dedication to this space. After proving its model with its first three clinics with strong economics, the seed round in collaboration with .406 Ventures & @Mother Ventures will help catalyze national expansion. At GreyMatter, we’ve been closely watching the Medicaid value-based provider enablement space and have observed a few major trends leading to what we believe is a unique opportunity:  1. Governments are looking for ways to reduce the cost of care among Medicaid patients.  2. Payors increasing their appetite to partner with Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs). 3. CMS is mandating all Medicare and Medicaid programs and providers move to value-based care by 2030. When we met Cesar Herrera, Carmelo Cruz Reyes, Janel S. and Stephanie Hudson, DipWSET at Yuvo Health, we were excited about their approach for powering FQHCs to better scale and support care for low-income communities. The platform includes shared technology, contracting, and infrastructure to arm FQHCs with better population health tools. With behavioral health as one of the core cost-drivers for this population, Yuvo’s approach not only improves access and quality, but supports FQHCs in their value-based care journey. Today, virtual trauma provider Nema Health announced their $4.1m seed round. We are excited to continue supporting Sofia Noori, MD MPH, Mariam Malik and team alongside Optum Ventures and .406 Ventures.
