Understanding the global distribution of rare earth element reserves is key to unlocking a truly diversified supply chain. As we navigate their importance across various industries and the demand for REEs increases, we need to examine and address the significant disparities between REE resource reserves and current production. This graphic highlights nations that could be key in shifting production dominance of rare earths away from a single country. The United States and its allies must be strategic and coordinated in efforts to cultivate policies, partnerships and investments towards realigning and diversifying REE production. https://lnkd.in/gtAWX49b

China has seen mineral dominance as a generational priority and a means to global economic and innovation dominance. We must put aside politics and election cycles to aggressively course correct our past abandonment and off-shoring of our resources and industrial base. If not, we will jeopardize our military strength, fail in our energy diversification, lose our edge in the AI and quantum innovation race, and further destabilize our economy. “China is not just standing still waiting for us to catch up,” said Morgan Bazilian, director of the Payne Institute at the Colorado School of Mines. “They are making investments on top of their already massive investments in all aspects of the critical-minerals supply chain.”
The U.S. needs to catch up now to build resilient supply chains. # Stardust Power, Inc.

We are pleased to share that this week, GreenMet Founder and CEO Drew Horn and team traveled to Argentina to meet with government officials and participate in the Direct Lithium Extraction Conference in Buenos Aires. Drew Horn gave an impactful presentation on DLE as a market maker for Western Hemispheric battery materials production and GreenMet’s commitment to positioning the Americas as global leaders in determining the future of lithium production. GreenMet had the incredible opportunity to meet with representatives at the Government House of Catamarca Province in Buenos Aires to engage in insightful discussions about the vital topic of diversifying the supply chain for critical minerals and responsibly sourcing these essential materials. While in Buenos Aires, GreenMet delegation was joined by Arguiró Elefteriu, one of our founding Board Directors and Libra Group executive. Together, they participated in a crucial round table discussion with Senators from Argentina, focusing on the pivotal role of critical minerals in bolstering economic stability and heightening energy security. A huge thank you to the officials and representatives for their warm welcome and productive dialogue. We look forward to continuing these discussions and working together towards a more resilient and secure future.

While ensuring U.S. leadership in critical minerals is imperative for economic and national security, the Biden administration's new tariffs on imported Chinese minerals and components may have been premature. We cannot use tariffs to create pricing premiums before viable, diverse, responsible supply chains are firmly established. Domestic policies that foster responsible and ethical sourcing, processing, and production across these critical supply chains must come first. This includes providing incentives and reducing regulatory hurdles for U.S. companies involved in mining, refining, and manufacturing of batteries, magnets, clean energy tech, and semiconductors. America possesses the resources, expertise, and innovative spirit to restore domestic production of these vital inputs. Focused investments can strengthen strategic supply chains, create jobs, solidify our technological edge, and bolster national security. GreenMet is committed to realizing this vision.

GreenMet is proud to share that our CEO, Drew Horn, spoke this morning at Argentina's 2024 Direct Lithium Extraction Conference about GreenMet's commitment to advancing lithium development for a diversified supply chain. We support strategic hemispheric alignment in our supply chains and energy transition. As such, the Americas should be a priority in an expansion of the Minerals Security Partnership. We believe responsibly leveraging the abundant mineral resources and shared energy goals of the Americas can reverse the trend of dependence and vulnerability that currently exists. #mineralsecurity #Americas #energytransition
