🌎 Proud to share that earlier this month, Concordia, a leading convener of the world’s most prominent business, government, and nonprofit leaders, and of which Libra Group is its Founding Sponsor, held its second Amazonas Summit in #Guyana. Launched in 2022 by Former Colombian President Iván Duque Márquez, the Concordia Amazonas Initiative focuses on the crucial connection between the Amazon's health and our planet's wellbeing. This year's Summit emphasized #EnvironmentalSustainability and #FinancialInclusion, bringing together leaders across sectors, including Libra Group’s Chief Relationship Officer Maria Paula Correa. Through immersive jungle visits, discussions on #biodiversity protection, and “do-tank” sessions, highlights included: 👉 Engaging with local female entrepreneurs in collaboration with Cherie Blair Foundation for Women, ActionINVEST Caribbean Inc, and #ExxonMobilGuyana. 👉 An excursion to Baganara Island Resort, featuring sessions on “Protecting Biodiversity & Sustainable Development in the Amazon” and “Carbon Credits – Navigating The Future Of Climate Finance.” 👉 An address from Irfaan Ali, President of Guyana, emphasizing global #collaboration, integrating biodiversity into the global agenda, and developing scalable models for #EnvironmentalProtection. During the Summit, President Ali pledged to protect 30% of its territory by 2030 to meet climate goals. President Ali also informed of plans for Guyana to become a member of the Development Bank of Latin America and the Caribbean in the near future. 👉 A visit to Iwokrama River Lodge, an eco-tourism and research center in the Essequibo River. 👉 A tour of Sophia Point Rainforest Research Centre, the first accessible wildlife monitoring and research center. Nicola Green, Co-Founder & Chair of Trustees, discussed the center’s impact on innovative education and conservation. We are proud to support Concordia, one of the 10 philanthropic initiatives of our sister organization, Libra Philanthropies, in fostering vital global conversations! #Concordia24 Photo Credits: Johnny Vacar and Nicolás Galeano

Pleased to share that our Group’s North European renewable energy interests, including three biogas facilities in Latvia, have been consolidated under EuroEnergy, one of our #RenewableEnergy companies based in Europe with a strong portfolio of solar, wind, and battery storage in Greece, Romania, Croatia, Poland, and now Latvia.  The consolidation of our North European renewable energy subsidiary, formerly known as Convergen Latvia, into #EuroEnergy comes after a period of growth for the company. Since its inception in 2007, EuroEnergy has completed in excess of €1 billion in transactions, with 600 megawatts (MW) developed through nearly 180 projects. Today, the company has a combined generating capacity of over 110 MW and a pipeline of approximately 640 MW under development across Europe.   With the addition of the Latvian energy portfolio, EuroEnergy adds a dynamic team of over 20 professionals and a specialty in biogas, with facilities located near Jelgava, Nica, and Cesvaine, Latvia. Produced through anaerobic digestion or fermentation of biodegradable materials, biogas is used to generate electricity sold to the national grid. To lead the newly consolidated European portfolio, Antonis Menegas, former CEO of EuroEnergy and currently one of Libra Group’s Executive Vice Presidents of Energy, has been reappointed as CEO of the newly enlarged EuroEnergy. Fanis Mermigkousis, previously EuroEnergy’s CEO, will become the Chief Operating Officer and continue overseeing the company’s team, operating projects, and robust pipeline. EuroEnergy is one of three Libra Group renewable energy companies comprising a portfolio in excess of 4 gigawatts (GW) of projects owned, developed, or pending development in 10 countries. Thanks to Theofanis’s strategic leadership, EuroEnergy has laid a strong foundation to meet Europe’s growing #CleanEnergy needs. We look forward to following this dynamic company and its leadership in this exciting next phase! Proud to share that Libra Philanthropies, Libra Group’s sister organization and an independent 501(c)(3) foundation, has established the “Philippe A. Embiricos Fellowship in Ocean Engineering” at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), with a total $500,000 gift. Honoring the remarkable legacy of Mr. Embiricos, a pioneer in improving the environmental footprint of global #shipping, his daughter, Nitzia Logothetis, initiated this fellowship through Libra Philanthropies’ Rising Global Leaders program. Housed in MIT's Center for Ocean Engineering, the fellowship aims to inspire and empower talent from Greece to become trailblazers in #maritime #innovation. Mr. Embiricos was a prominent and beloved figure in international shipping, known for his outspoken and insightful views. 🎥 We’re pleased to share that Aria Hotels recently hosted the “Aria Screenings Kimolos International Film Festival,” a first-of-its-kind cultural event held at the picturesque Cycladic island of Kimolos. Developed by Aria Hotels and Glory Films, the collaboration aimed to highlight Greek culture through the art of cinema. The result was a magical cinematic experience under the stars at the award-winning Windmill Kimolos, one of Aria's ~70 properties that offer unique and immersive hospitality experiences. At the premiere event, Aria Hotels was honored to welcome celebrated Greek actor and screenwriter Harris Romas. The festival included screenings of 3 new films, “The Taste of Things,” “75 díaz,” and “Someday We’ll Tell Each Other Everything,” and ended with a closing party at The Windmill, one of the few traditionally restored windmills in Greece today dating from 1852 that was renovated into an elegant hotel with modern amenities and facilities. 👋 Thanks to the remarkable contributions of partners including Rosebud.21 and the Athens International Food Film Festival, the three-day event was a great success. ☀️ Congratulations to Aria, one of our #hospitality subsidiaries dedicated to providing authentic Greek hospitality, and its partners for executing this experience! ☀️ As our Group’s renewable energy footprint continues to grow, we are pleased to highlight 2 of the 71 built U.S. #solar projects of Greenwood Sustainable Infrastructure (GSI), one of our #RenewableEnergy subsidiaries based in North America! Developed by GSI and operating since 2017, these solar projects in Orlando, Florida produce nearly 13 MW DC as part of a long-term power purchase agreement with the Orlando Utilities Commission (OUC - The Reliable One) Stanton Power Station. ➡️ These projects integrate with OUC’s current energy grid, maximizing land use while generating additional clean energy, and are just a snapshot of GSI’s broad portfolio in the U.S. and Canada, including 388 MW of built operating assets and a future pipeline of over 2 GW under development. 🌱 We are proud of projects such as this, which help offset carbon emissions and promote #CleanEnergy solutions for a better future. We look forward to continuing to follow as GSI advances clean energy initiatives in North America!
