The Grand Junction Area Chamber of Commerce is proud to announce our partnership with The Civic Trust of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation to bring the National Civics Bee to Grand Junction! The National Civics Bee is a local nonpartisan civics competition that encourages young Americans to engage in civics and contribute to their communities. Middle schoolers in 6th, 7th, and 8th grades in the Grand Junction area, Western Slope, and Colorado will be eligible to participate. Finalists from the local competition will be invited to compete with students from across Colorado at the state competition, where winners will be selected to travel to Washington, DC to compete in the national championship in Fall 2025 - with cash prizes along the way! Our communities thrive on the foundations of civics, and we are thrilled to introduce this opportunity that will empower young students to deepen their understanding of civics, encourage engagement and contribute to their communities. At the Grand Junction Area Chamber, we believe that informed and active citizens make for a strong community, economy and workforce, and that our continued prosperity depends on the strength of all three. Stay tuned as more information will be announced about important dates, resources for students, cash prizes, and how community members, educators and businesses can get involved and support!
