The podcast Design Matters by Debbie Millman has been around for nearly two decades—since the pre-iPhone era, when you actually had to load podcasts onto your iPod. Millman, President Emeritus of the AMERICAN INSTITUTE OF GRAPHIC ARTS, has hosted hundreds of scintillating conversations with design luminaries from Milton Glaser to Marian Bantjes to Dr. Dori Tunstall. And this week, GDP’s founder Scott Dadich joined the ranks of her guests. Follow the link to hear an in-depth overview of his creative journey, and the things he learned that helped shape the vision for everything that GDP does now. Millman is famous for diving deep—the conversation goes to unexpected places! And host and guest turn out to be kindred spirits who bond over their formative experiences falling in love with magazines, and their obsessive attention to order and detail. Let us know in the comments which behind the scenes story surprised you the most. https://lnkd.in/gfcmp4Wk #teamgodfreydadich #podcast #design #designmatters #debbiemillman

We’re so excited to welcome Michael Fiore as GDP’s new executive creative director! He will oversee our advertising work, and we’re eager for him to apply his talent, his humor, his award-winning expertise, his deep understanding of our ambitions, and his boundless creative vigor to our projects. Michael started his creative journey as an art director at Kirshenbaum and Bond in New York, before moving on to the international scene at Bates Italia in Milan. Returning stateside, he joined our friends and San Francisco neighbors at Goodby Silverstein & Partners, where he worked with Saturn, HP, Haagen-Dazs, and Doritos. Later, his role as global group creative director at mcgarrybowen’s San Francisco office—where he worked with our own Hannah Sanderson!—saw him spearheading Intel’s global campaigns, notably for the 2018 PyeongChang Winter Olympics. More recently at Eleven, Inc., Michael managed major accounts like Dignity Health and Samsung. Michael is an inspired creative leader who understands the role that “finding the fun” plays in crafting great work. We’re lucky to have him join us. We’re really proud of the client-agency collaboration on Microsoft WorkLab. Worklab is an editorial platform for articles, newsletters, research papers, data journalism, and podcast episodes about the future of work. The recently released Work Trend Index report demonstrates how WorkLab continues to drive the national conversation, sparking follow-on coverage from WIRED, The Verge, Forbes, Axios, Fast Company, Good Morning America, and more. We love to see that, and we also love to see WorkLab getting recognition from the online media mavens at Digiday. WorkLab just won the award for Best Agency/Client Collaboration in the Digiday Content Marketing Awards. This win is a recognition of Microsoft’s deep commitment to research, data gathering, and sharing the information that business leaders need to keep up with a landscape that’s in a constant state of transformation. It’s also a gratifying recognition of the great work of so many members of the GDP team, who are involved in every aspect of WorkLab’s editorial excellence—from assigning and editing and writing to design and layout to producing and recording. Follow the link below to read more about the award, and be sure to check out WorkLab and subscribe to the newsletter if you haven’t already! https://lnkd.in/erPrGuqf #worklab #microsoftworklab #worktrendindex #futureofwork #gdp #digiday #digidaycontentmarketingawards

The data is in: 75% of global knowledge workers say they use generative AI, a usage figure that has nearly doubled in the past six months. Struggling under the pace and volume of work, many of them are bringing their own AI to work. They feel they have no other choice: while leaders agree AI is a business imperative, the pressure to show immediate ROI is causing a kind of inertia, even in the face of this AI inevitability. As part of GDP’s ongoing collaboration with Microsoft, we were extremely proud to help edit, design, and produce the 2024 Work Trend Index Annual Report, released last Wednesday. It contains insights every leader and professional needs to know—and actions they can take—when it comes to the profound effect AI will have on work. To understand how AI will reshape work and the labor market broadly, Microsoft and LinkedIn surveyed 31,000 people across 31 countries, identified labor and hiring trends from LinkedIn, and analyzed trillions of Microsoft 365 productivity signals as well as research with Fortune 500 customers. Follow the link to check out the full report and explore more of its findings. While you’re there, subscribe to the WorkLab newsletter to keep up with the latest science and the most innovative thinking, from Microsoft and elsewhere, on how and where and why people work—and how leaders can guide the workplace into the future. Because 2024 is the year AI at work gets real. #gdpwork #microsoft #ai #linkedin #worktrendindex #AIatWork https://lnkd.in/AIatWork
