Fantastic news from Emmeline Ventures ! 🥳🥳
Launched with an initial target of $5 million to $8 million, Emmeline Ventures raised the target for its debut fund to $25 million after abundant interest from institutional LPs and is now close to holding a final close. "What I think is really special is we have this incredible group of folks, mainly newly wealthy women, that have been left out of the venture asset class, and then you have your expertise leaning in with the founders to make sure they succeed," firm co-founder and general partner La Keisha Landrum Pierre told me. "It's like this sort of golden trifecta, and it makes what we're doing really special." Along with co-founders Naseem Sayani (she/her) and Azin Radsan van Alebeek, Landrum Pierre plans to target a portfolio of 50 percent women's health companies, 30 percent financial services companies and 20 percent sustainability companies. Congratulations to Diana Murakhovskaya and the entire The Artemis Fund team! Debuting a $36M fund 🥳🥳
I’m incredibly proud to announce The Artemis Fund has closed our second fund at $36M. Artemis invests in technology to address key barriers faced by overlooked businesses, communities, and families in the U.S. At the age of seven, I immigrated as a child from the Ukraine. Watching my family make the hard choices to leave their home to make a better life for their daughter cemented my resilience and work ethic. As a founder of Artemis I feel honored every day to build an impactful community and enduring financial institution for diverse women, girls and immigrants. We’re honored to be backed by amazing LPs that share our values, including: Bank of America, BMO, Nuveen, a TIAA company, Churchill Asset Management, Texas Capital, Amazon Catalytic Capital, Rockwell Fund, Ballentine Partners, LLC and many of our incredible individuals. The real heroes are our amazing founders. We wouldn’t be here without you! (All tagged below!) Stephanie Campbell, Leslie Goldman Tepper, Adrienne Mangual, Juliette Richert, Leigh Harris and I are excited to #investinwomen and take Artemis to the next level with Fund II! 🚀 You can read the full coverage on our raise linked in the comments. Thank you to TechCrunch and Christine Hall for the feature!

Marina Hadjipateras of TMV featuring in the cover story of WIRED - excellent profile on innovation in the shipping and logistics industries - article below 💫
WIRED just published “The World’s Most Important Industry Has a New Captain—and She’s Piloting It Into the 21st Century,” an in-depth profile on our very own Marina Hadjipateras, spotlighting her work as co-founder and GP of TMV. Virginia Heffernan, who spent time with Marina over the last several months, writes: "[She] believes that shipping is good for humans, as to trade with people around the world is to acquire empathy for them. “To see them in their places, to see what they need, what they want. It’s globalization.” With the ramp-up of TMV’s latest fund, it seems to me that Marina, in her steel-bougainvillea way, is currently orchestrating a one-woman overhaul of the entire shipping industry." We at TMV team are proud to see Marina receive this deserved profile. This feature offers a unique glimpse into her commitment to fostering growth and innovation within the maritime sector, the inner workings of TMV and the values that drive us as we invest in next-gen solutions across the care economy, the future of work, transportation & sustainability.
