About us

FWD.us is a bipartisan political organization that believes America’s families, communities, and economy thrive when everyone has the opportunity to achieve their full potential. For too long, our broken immigration and criminal justice systems have locked too many people out from the American dream. Founded by leaders in the technology and business communities, we seek to grow and galvanize political support to break through partisan gridlock and achieve meaningful reforms. Together, we can move America forward.

Criminal Justice Reform Advocate | Speaker | Attorney

🚨 Announcement: I'm looking forward to moderating a panel at the National Urban League conference this week! If you'll be there, come check out Race and Justice Reframed: Crafting a New Narrative for Public Safety, Criminal Justice, and Police Reform, featuring a dynamic discussion with Khalilah M. Harris, EdD, JD, Erin Haney, Troy Glover, and Philip V. McHarris, Ph.D. and remarks from Maya Wiley and Karena Stewart, CPM. Mass incarceration and the racial and economic disparities it perpetuates continue to hold America back from its full potential, but we've made notable progress in the last 15 years, seeing crime drop faster in states that reduced their prison and jail populations than those that did not. Nationally, since 2008, the Black imprisonment rate has dropped by nearly half. We must seize the opportunity to build on this progress and continue the momentum to end mass incarceration. Panel Details: Thursday, July 25, 2024 10:45-12:00 Hyatt Regency New Orleans, Strand 11 A/B

Javier Quiroz Castro, a DACA recipient, a nurse, husband, and father who has been advocating to stay with his family. This week Javier introduced President Biden as he announced an executive order to protect the undocumented spouses of US citizens and Dreamers. Specifically, the parole-in-place policy will allow an estimated 500,000 undocumented spouses of American citizens, including many DACA recipients like Javier, to come forward and apply for the opportunity to adjust their status in the United States rather than leave the country and be separated from their families for years. These spouses of U.S. citizens have lived in the U.S. for 23 years on average, Javier has been here for 30 years. This is a historic milestone in improving the lives of hundreds of thousands of Dreamers and American families with undocumented members.

A NEW Coalition for the American Dream report details how ending #DACA would be extremely harmful for DACA recipients and their families. The U.S. economy would suffer and the long-term cost of ending the policy, in addition to past investments, could reach one trillion dollars. https://lnkd.in/g3xTMWJT

Thank you to Jarrell Allen for sharing his powerful and inspiring story about his experience with the criminal justice system, and the importance of allowing people a second chance to rejoin their families and contribute positively to their communities.  We are extremely happy to have Jarrell on our team! #SecondChanceMonth
