What an amazing turnout for the JFF Horizons Strada + FOHE DC Happy Hour last night! It was incredible to see ideas spark and connections form, all with the shared goal of shaping the future of higher education.
One highlight was Erin Mayhood leaving everyone speechless with the inspiring mission of Mentor Collective, one of Emerge’s EdTech rising stars. 💫
Hearing how Interplay Learning is closing the skills gap with immersive skilled trades simulation training from Jim Clor, Ariana Dugan, and Danielle Dupuis was truly inspiring. And Jim’s mime skills were a fun surprise! 😂
I enjoyed discussing the EdTech market and product strategy with Kara S., Kim Jamison, and Anne Margaret Schmitz. 🧠
Meeting Alexander George, the new FOHE Chicago Chapter Lead, and chatting about building an engaging community was fantastic. 🚀
A huge shout-out to Joy Jiang and Anne Schmitz for their support in making the event run smoothly. 🙏
Thank you, Grant Schroll and Strada Education Foundation, for sponsoring the event, and to everyone who came out (despite the rain)! ☀️
To those who joined us, what was your favorite part of the evening? 🎉

I'm excited to announce that I am starting as the Local Lead for the Detroit chapter of the Future of Higher Ed (FOHE).
FOHE is a global community for founders and practitioners focused on the future of postsecondary education. With over 3,000 members, this community of executives, educators, investors, and advocates is moving higher education forward.
I can't wait to get the first Michigan chapter off the ground. Thank you, Ray Batra and Jake Weissbourd, for this opportunity.
For my friends in higher ed or edtech-adjacent founders, I strongly encourage you to join the community (www.fohe.org). And for anyone in SE Michigan, look forward to our first event at the end of July— more details to come.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for the inaugural Future of Higher Ed D.C. Chapter Happy Hour! It was fantastic to see such a great turnout. We’re excited about the opportunities ahead to collaborate and bring our collective minds, talents, and passions together to shape the future of higher education. 🎉
Thank you Grant Schroll and Anne Margaret Schmitz for co-hosting and Michael Schmitz for supporting the event. Here’s to many more in the future! 🍻
Innovation is happening in higher education.
I'm honored to have been asked to co-lead the Chicago chapter of Future of Higher Ed (FOHE), a community of over 3k people working to make education more accessible and effective in this country and around the world.
Started by Jake Weissbourd and Ray Batra, FOHE connects leaders who are driving innovation, creates community to solve real problems, and keeps people informed on changes impacting the space.
With over 1M young adults annually being kept out of higher education due to cost, the power of community building can be catalytic. It's already helped us move Polymath University forward by helping us build our team and meet others who are boldly building and testing new models.
If you are a founder, executive, educator, operator, investor, or advocate working to improve higher education, please reach out to me or my co-lead Alexander George ask how you can be a part of this community. And if you're in Chicago, let's meet.

I'm thrilled to announce my appointment as the Co-Lead of the Chicago Chapter of Future of Higher Ed (FOHE)!
Since first joining the FOHE community, I’ve been continually amazed by its collaborative spirit and innovative mindset. This community has significantly enriched my professional network, leading to numerous meetings and partnerships. It truly is the most impactful network I've ever been a part of. With that in mind, I’m beyond excited to expand this dynamic community in the Chicagoland area alongside my co-lead, Dan Futrell.
A special thank you to Ray Batra and Jake Weissbourd for selecting me for this role.
✨✨ If you’re a founder, educator, nonprofit, operator, investor, or advocate focused on shaping the future of postsecondary education and training, we’d LOVE to have you join us! You can request an invite here: https://www.fohe.org
