Located on the west side of Chicago, Rockne Stadium will undergo major renovations to the entire site. This Chicago Public Schools project includes a new track and new artificial turf field.  The new artificial turf field will be able to host football, soccer, and lacrosse games. The existing locker room building under the home side grandstands will undergo major utility upgrades and program changes. It will continue to hold administrative and supporting functions and the team’s locker rooms will be relocated to a new 4100 sf. locker room building on the north side of the new track and field. The new locker room building will include accessible showers and toilet rooms in addition to a new trainer’s room. A new concessions building will be built on the visitors side of the stadium. The visitors side building will undergo renovations to accommodate new accessible toilet facilities and utility upgrades. Restoration of visitors side concrete grandstand will also be part of renovation scope. Additional scope included a new parking lot along with new fencing on the south side of new track and field, new landscaping and upgrades to spectator circulation throughout the stadium, a new score board and PA system, and low voltage upgrades to existing press box. #Architecture #Chicago #sports #CommunityDevelopment #Renovation #Communitysports 

Beatrix occupies 9,200 sq. ft on the first floor of the Northwestern Memorial Hospital located in Streeterville. This complete interior buildout was successfully delivered despite the complexity of various permits that required plan approval. The scope included providing a grab and go market area as well as a formal dining space. The formal dining area included multiple bars for coffee and wine, as well as a full-service kitchen. This 5-story building was previously the old Anderson Brothers Storage and Moving facility for 110 years. The scope included providing 80 new residential units and a new amenities level which includes a workout facility and sun deck which overlooks Chicago's Lakeview Neighborhood. A new parking level was constructed below grade, which required extensive structural reinforcement for 31 new parking spaces. Situated on the southernmost end of the Englewood community on the South Side of Chicago, Stagg Stadium is designed to host Chicago Public School district athletic events. With this expectation in mind, Forma Architecture Ltd. took on the challenge of renovating and upgrading the current existing facilities of the stadium. Additionally, a new parking lot, new fencing, and gates throughout the property with landscape upgrades will complement the upgraded fields and stadium facilities.  The field improvements include a new track and new artificial turf football and softball fields. The existing masonry locker room building will undergo major utility upgrades and program changes. It will continue holding administrative and supporting functions, and the team’s locker rooms will be relocated into a brand-new building west of the Home Side bleachers. The new 2280 sf. locker room building will be equipped with accessible shower and toilet rooms, as well as a trainer’s room. During the turbulent times of the COVID-19 pandemic, Forma Architecture Ltd. had the pleasure of joining forces with SMNG A Ltd. on the project for the new 83,000 sf. Belmont Cragin Elementary School for Chicago Public Schools and the Public Building Commission. Nestled in the heart of the Belmont Cragin community, located on the Northwest Side of the City of Chicago, the new elementary school was built with the goal of providing a learning environment centered on developing the inherent creative potential of Pre-K to 8th grade children.  The program of the new 3-story school building includes home rooms, specialized classrooms for arts and science, a library, staff office and meeting rooms. Northeast from the main body of the school, the building transitions to a 2-story gymnatorium incorporating also a cafetorium. Adjacent to the new elementary school building and connected through a stairwell link is the Chicago Park District’s Riis Park Field House. Respecting its historical significance, the existing recreational building is undergoing major renovation changes as part of an ongoing project where Forma Architecture Ltd. continues its collaboration with SMNG A Ltd.
