Mad Dash lets customers place their orders via the Teriyaki Madness app, which then tracks their real-time location as they approach the restaurant. Using what the brand calls “Teriyaki Space Tracking Technology” the system alerts employees when customers are just minutes away, and again when they are pulling up to the curb. https://lnkd.in/gU-tpsUd

“You only have 17 minutes in the U.S. to grab the attention of customers,” Zhong Xu, CEO of Deliverect, “That is all the time that a consumer spends to scroll through an app, find a restaurant, look at the menu, and order. If you’re a restaurant of any size you need to be ranked high on the marketplaces.” https://lnkd.in/gbhE_Ue9

Irvine-based Taco Bell is the next fast-food chain to join the fray of brands leaning into voice AI. The chain's parent company, Yum! Brands, announced plans to expand voice AI across Taco Bell drive-thru locations in the U.S., targeting hundreds of stores by the end of 2024. Voice AI is currently rolled out at more than 100 Taco Bell U.S. drive-thru lanes across 13 states, the company said. Yum! Brands said the deployment is designed to enhance back-of-house operations for employees while elevating the order experience for consumers. "Benefits include easing task load for team members, improving order accuracy, providing a consistent, friendly experience, and reducing wait times, while driving profitable growth for Taco Bell, Yum! Brands and their franchisees," the company stated in a press release. Are they also trying to reduce staff hours in labor-challenged states like California? I welcome your thoughts.
