Veterans Supporting Veterans

About us

Flanders Fields was formed by a group of veterans, combat veterans, purple heart recipients and amputees to serve other veterans in need. We have a primary focus on helping those (and their families) that have been affected by the VA fueled opioid epidemic, to provide services such as covering treatment costs, assist with transportation and placement to inpatient facilities, to facilitate job training and placement post-recovery, and to provide support to their families while they are getting the help they need. We aim to END veteran homelessness and suicide, and addiction is the driving factor behind 22 a day. We want to see that at zero, and we will attack this issue with the same unrelenting resolve, tenacity, and aggression with which we attack everything else. In Flanders fields the poppies blow Between the crosses, row on row, That mark our place; and in the sky The larks, still bravely singing, fly Scarce heard amid the guns below. We are the Dead. Short days ago We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow, Loved and were loved, and now we lie, In Flanders fields. Take up our quarrel with the foe: To you from failing hands we throw The torch; be yours to hold it high. If ye break faith with us who die We shall not sleep, though poppies grow In Flanders fields.

Wanna help change the trajectory of lives and fix the deadliest streets in America while blueprinting a model for the rest of the country to follow? You can! We are teaching adult products of foster care, gang members, addicts, and trafficking survivors how to work with their hands and build a business of their own. We’re starting with something simple, yet beautiful. Handmade cutting boards. By providing jobs, we are offering "a way out" to folks who have only known a life on the streets, and by teaching them to build a business, we are giving them a purpose and a sustainable way to earn a living. This isn't just "checking a box", we are teaching folks in our program a trade, a skill, and the quality of workmanship can be seen in the photos. Not only are these unique and supporting something amazing, they are INCREDIBLY high quality pieces. The price of $97 is representative of the quality, but it's also significant because 97% of addicts die in their addiction - we are aiming to change that, and want the 3% we are working with to GROW. Made from patterns of Ash, Walnut, Cherry, Hard Maple with accents of Bloodwood and Purpleheart - the wood we use for these is insane quality, gunstock quality in many cases. We come from the outdoors industry, y'all know what we mean. Size will be 18x12x1 (freedom units). These will be shipping late August/Early September, they are food safe, and each unit is handmade and guaranteed to be one-of-a-kind. Grab one here while you can and help save a life in the process - https://lnkd.in/efAD6GHy

Yall PLEASE watch this video in its entirety and share it around. This documents the 18 month journey my sister Cresia has had from living in the trap house on Woodward Street, South Memphis, with nothing to her name but a habit, to finding a life worth living, getting her partner and grandkids back in her life, then rebuilding a life worth living that is full of purpose today. She went from hopelessly addicted and in jail to sober living to running Sparrow House to living in her own place with her own business getting off the ground. Cresia’s journey is nothing short of miraculous. To highlight that, I’ll point out that a handful of the women in this video with us didn’t make it, in fact one of them was murdered AFTER I compiled the video, just a couple days ago. For any of us to make it out of that life is a miracle, but to make it out and build a life of purpose, and one of service…that’s the most miraculous thing you can ever see. Lucresia is graduating Drug Court in Memphis TN on 7/31, at 1pm, 201 Poplar Court House Auditorium on the second floor - if you’re in Memphis, you should stop by to see it!

Recovery is a process. It takes time and patience and hard work. But the rewards far outweigh the struggles. Flanders is helping those ready veterans escape the clutches of addiction and dependence, to find peace and self-sufficiency, and often go on to help others do the same. We can’t do it without you. $10 today, $10 a month, every donation makes a difference in these peoples’ lives. Help us keep the mission moving forward! Flandersfields.org/donate

What an amazing ceremony today for the Tunnel to Towers Foundation groundbreaking in Memphis. We were so honored to be invited to the event and to meet some pretty amazing people in the process. The FDNY Color Guard came in all the way from New York, and they braved a monsoon in full dress gear to make sure everything went off without a hitch. We got to meet folks from Senator Marsha Blackburn’s office, the Chief Deputy Buckner with Shelby County Sheriff Office, and Shelby County Commissioner Edmund Ford Jr. And every one of them was there to support and defend our treasured veterans. Can’t wait to do more with these groups in the coming days and years. In the meantime, we are out here to get veterans ready for the programs that Tunnel to Towers Foundation are creating. That means getting former service members off dope, out of the bottle, and helping them navigate the needlessly over complicated and overwhelming bureaucracy that is in their way. With great partners like Michael Springer from We Are The 22 and Called 2 Duty, we are reaching more and more veterans every day with the mission and message of hope. You help us keep that torch held high to mark the pathway out of darkness, and without your generous contributions that light goes out. Thank you for helping us get here and for your continued support to serve those who served all of us. Donate today at flandersfields.org/donate

grab one here - https://lnkd.in/eetgk5Vv - The biggest issues impacting our society mandate a transcendence of politics, namely those that are morally and objectively "right". Our fights against fentanyl and human trafficking are two of those things, and until we can put partisan lines behind us and unite around the common goal of loving our neighbors, it's a fight we will continue losing. This shirt memorializes that concept of unity around what we ALL have in common - we're Americans, and we stand TOGETHER. All proceeds fund our work fighting the twin evils of narco and human trafficking on the worst streets in America, shutting down hot spots and housing survivors.
