The Vinland Map and the Shroud of Turin remain controversial subjects even, to this day. Pioneering microscopist Walter McCrone was one of the select few to study both. His case studies are available now on the Research Forensic Library, ForensicLibrary.org. Want to get this information directly to your inbox? When labs have customized assessments of their needs, we can set them up for success. We worked with Indiana State Department of Toxicology to help them continue their growth as an independent state-run laboratory. In May, the team was recognized by American Society of Crime Laboratory Directors (ASCLD) as a Foresight Maximus award recipient. To be considered, laboratories have to operate at 90% or better of peak efficiency during the previous operational year. Email us at WorkWithGFJC@fiu.edu to learn how we can help your agency!

When forensic science meets the deep sea. We were proud to be even a small part of Dr. Michael Heithaus' show, Shark Vs. Ross Edgley. Our prototype forensic bitemark collector was just the beginning of a great example of collaboration in environmental forensic support from GFJC. Catch the show now - and a glimpse of this underwater forensic science - now streaming on Hulu and Disney+. #sharkweek #research #forensicscience #collaboration

“As soon as I realized they were going through a conservation crisis, I wanted to help what I love the most." We're proud of Diego Cardeñosa and his work to help stop illegal shark finning across the world. CNN covered his work on using a DNA kit to quickly and efficiently determine the shark species and origin. Read more about it here: https://ow.ly/GLOf50StQSE
