We are incredibly proud to have Allison Rosen, MS, as part of our research advocacy program! Allison tirelessly fights for and alongside fellow colorectal cancer survivors and advocates. Check out her amazing accomplishments and join us in celebrating her dedication and impact! 👇
Allison Rosen, MS, is a dedicated and accomplished professional in the field of public health and #oncology, currently serving as the Director of Project #ECHO at the American Cancer Society. With a robust background in community outreach, project management, and public health, Allison has made significant strides in addressing cancer health disparities, particularly in colorectal cancer. Her strategic direction in the ACS Project ECHO program emphasizes health equity and aims to reduce cancer-related disparities through consumer-relevant, evidence-based, and efficient initiatives. Allison's career is marked by her leadership in various impactful public health programs and initiatives. At the The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth Houston) , she directed a CDC-funded colorectal cancer project, leading a multidisciplinary team to implement evidence-based interventions to increase colorectal cancer screening rates across Texas. Her role involved creating tailored implementation plans for FQHC clinics, optimizing electronic health records, and facilitating practice improvements. Her leadership ensured the systematic collection, storage, and presentation of data to support clinic growth and success. During her 15 years at Baylor College of Medicine, Allison held several key roles, including Lead Project Coordinator at the Dan L. Duncan Cancer Center Office of Outreach and Health Disparities. There, she was instrumental in creating cancer education outreach programs, liaising with government leadership, and collaborating with organizations like the American Cancer Society, Fight CRC, and the National Coalition for Cancer Survivorship. Notably, she designed and implemented the "80 by 18" CRC Screening Campaign, which significantly increased colorectal cancer screening rates by encouraging communication between medical staff and patients. Her ability to engage and motivate stakeholders was further demonstrated through initiatives like the Bodyguards Volunteer Program and the Get Your Rear in Gear event, which raised funds and awareness for CRC outreach and research. Allison's contributions to cancer health disparities and public health are also reflected in her extensive research and publications. Her work on targeting therapeutic interventions for acute myeloid leukemia and expanding colorectal cancer screening initiatives has been recognized in prestigious forums. As a cancer survivor herself, Allison's personal story has been a powerful tool in advocating for cancer awareness and prevention. She has been a featured speaker at prominent conferences, including the Early Age Onset CRC conference and the Colon Cancer Alliance National Conference, where she shares her insights and experiences to inspire others in the fight against cancer.
