🙌 We’re excited to be experiencing the NAHJ (National Association of Hispanic Journalists) conference celebrating the organization’s 40th anniversary! Coming to you from Los Angeles, below are some highlights from an #NAHJ40TH workshop featuring Factchequeado: ➡️For a training session at #NAHJ40TH, Factchequeado CEO Laura Zommer presented alongside media leaders from the Brennan Center for Justice and NPR. The Brennan Center for Justice is one of Factchequeado’s 90+ partners.🤝 And what do our partners do? They help us amplify fact-checks and explainers to combat mis- and disinformation in Spanish-speaking communities across the country. 📣Laura shared the stage with Larry Norden of the Brennan Center for Justice and Jude Joffe-Block of NPR to present on: "Disinformation and Democracy: Reporting on the 2024 Election and Countering Disinformation." 🧑💻 During the workshop, each speaker provided their perspective on how content generated by #AI is contributing to the spread of disinformation on an unprecedented scale. Against this backdrop, the session highlighted the sharing of tools and strategies to combat this content, particularly when looking at disinfo impacting Latino communities. ⬇️📄Laura highlighted Factchequeado’s Bilingual Guide for Journalists Covering Latino and Spanish-Speaking Communities, which we developed with the support of the Reynolds Journalism Institute. The guide is full of concrete tools to help combat disinformation. You can download it here: https://lnkd.in/dQKYFmZE
