We strive to create an inclusive workplace that embraces diversity all year long, and we take a special moment during Pride Month to uplift our LGBTQ+ employees for their resilience and drive towards continued progress. In the words of Daniel Rodriguez Jr., Principal Business Analyst at Atlantic City Electric, Pride month is “about creating a space where everyone feels valued for who they are, and where diversity is not just accepted, but celebrated as a strength.” Read through what Pride Month means to the employees in our Pride employee resource group.

This week, leadership and colleagues gathered at Baltimore Gas and Electric and tuned in virtually for our Q2 All-Hands meeting. A highlight of the day included celebrating the dedicated control room workers across Exelon alongside a group of BGE control room workers in attendance, including some of those who submitted for National Control Room Workers Day to be established. We’re grateful for all that they do to support our 24/7 operations and for inspiring us all as we enter the second half of the year!

It’s the first National Control Room Workers Day! This newly recognized National Day of Recognition was submitted by the control room workers at Baltimore Gas and Electric in 2023 and is now official. We’re grateful to all of our Exelon employees who work around the clock to maintain the integrity of our electric and gas systems and respond to emergencies to keep our customers and the public safe.

Congratulations to the latest graduates of the Walter Reed Infrastructure Academy! VP, Talent, and Chief Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Officer, Robert Matthews gave an inspiring keynote address to graduates and President and CEO of Pepco Holdings, Tyler Anthony closed the event with remarks. These new grads are now primed for a long-term career in the energy industry as they’ve acquired skills in cloud architecture, cybersecurity, software testing and more. As one of Exelon’s more than 80 workforce development programs, the Infrastructure Academy empowers attendees and combats economic inequities. We’re proud to partner with Pepco and DigiDoc, Inc. dba Public Sector Solutions Group to provide this important program.

Exelon reposted this
It was an honor to keynote the 2024 Exelon Innovation Expo and hear from industry leaders including Colette Honorable, Tyler Anthony, and Mike Innocenzo who are dedicated to building a clean energy future while meeting the challenges of load growth and rising electricity demand. We at the EFI Foundation share their conviction that a diversified, low-carbon electrical grid is vital for America’s prosperity and economic security. #loadgrowth #electrification #exelon #cleanenergy #electricity
At the heart of yesterday’s Innovation Expo were the ideas and the conversations. We were fortunate to have with us so many influential leaders in the energy, innovation and equity space, sharing their thoughts and insights to help Exelon – and our industry – become even better at what we do. Former U.S. Secretary of Energy Dr. Ernest J. Moniz started the day with an inspiring overview of the role of utilities and innovation in the energy transformation. FERC Chairman Willie Phillips graced our stage and spoke about FERC’s landmark Order 1920 and about Exelon’s innovation journey. Former Walt Disney Company Innovation head Duncan Wardle led an engaging activity and Congressman Glenn Ivey kicked off our Innovation Awards. I could fill a textbook with all the ideas they shared. I’d like to send a special thank you to fellow women in energy Vanessa Z Chan, Whitney Muse and Brenda Brickhouse for joining me in a thoughtful discussion about innovation’s role in decarbonization and how we can make equitable and sustainable impacts for our customers and the environment. What a powerful and inspiring panel! I hope you’ll come back next year. Thank you to all who organized this successful event and our guests who joined these meaningful conversations. #ExelonIdeas
