EP is working with the Town of Needham, MA on the I-95 Sewer Interceptor Rehabilitation Phase 1 project. Pre-lining CCTV is complete for approximately 8,000 linear feet of sewer interceptor, including 5,000 linear feet along the shoulder of I-95. To reduce traffic impact on commuters and increase safety for the construction crew, work has been completed at night on the Interstate. Rehabilitation is scheduled to commence in August and will include cured-in-place-pipe of the interceptor, manhole rehabilitation, and lateral lining.

Providing the City of Framingham with a reliable pumping system that will help simplify operation and maintenance, the Flanagan Drive Sewer Pump Station and Force Main Replacement project replaces an existing sewer ejector station with a new suction lift sewer pump station. Work includes the replacement of 1,000 linear feet of existing force main with new PVC force main pipe, installation of a new control system and electric service. The existing ejector station presents mechanical maintenance obstacles and has recently experienced structural deterioration, forcing the City to quickly implement a temporary pumping solution in the interim. The force main has an extensive break history and has reached the end of its useful life. The project is currently in the construction phase with a majority of the force main and electric service work complete. The pump station installation, start-up, and commissioning is scheduled for this winter.

To improve safety for pedestrians and motorists within the heart of Buzzards Bay, EP assisted the Town of Bourne, MA in securing construction funding through the Shared Streets & Spaces Grant Program to construct widened, ADA-accessible sidewalks and other safety improvements at the Main Street and Academy Drive intersection. The project addresses safety deficiencies for pedestrians and motorists on Main Street by reducing the speed of traffic entering the downtown from the Buzzards Bay Rotary and improving pedestrian accommodations by consolidating crosswalk locations, reducing crosswalk lengths, and expanding sidewalk space. This project will also facilitate outdoor activities through the expanded sidewalk space along the northern side of the Main Street/Academy Drive intersection, where several storefronts are located. EP assisted the Town with the design and bidding of these improvements, with the contract awarded to the Walsh Construction Company in Spring 2024. Construction is currently underway and anticipated to be completed in August. #funding #sharedstreets #ada #safety

Apex conducted comprehensive natural resource inventories for several military sites. These inventories included detailed assessments of various ecological and environmental factors critical to maintaining the sustainability of these areas. Here, Dr. Amy Smith is completing a macroinvertebrate study to assess water quality. This method of sampling macroinvertebrates gives a long-term perspective of stream health, unlike traditional water sampling, which only offers a short-term snapshot of water quality attained in water samples. #ApexCompanies #WaterQuality #NaturalResources Amy D. EP is excited to have partnered with the City of Attleboro on our first project together! The Lindsey Street Water Main Replacement project replaces 10,400 linear feet of antiquated and unreliable cast iron water main with new ductile iron water main. The existing cast iron water main has reached the end of its useful life, and has been subject to many leaks and breaks over the years. The new ductile iron water main will significantly increase the resiliency and reliability of the water distribution system in this area of the City. With EP's design completed in late 2023, the project has now entered construction. Pictured is the Contractor installing a temporary bypass system to reliably supply residents with water during water main installation.
