Poverty isn't just a standalone issue - this simulation lets you step into their shoes and understand the intricate web of challenges they face. Participants become one of 26 different families, living the reality of poverty for a month. Local volunteers step in as community service providers and businesses to make the experience authentic. After the simulation, meaningful discussions spark. Reflecting and sharing give insights into the daily struggles of low-income individuals. Most importantly, this tool sparks change. The Kansas Highway Patrol inspected Southeast Kansas Education Service Center vehicles this morning. Every vehicle that transports students must pass inspection before SEKESC (Greenbush) can use them to transport students. All 13 of our vehicles that were inspected passed!
