To narrow the opportunity gap for early childcare centers serving Black and Brown children.
About us
OUR VISION To help make running a successful center-based and home-based childcare center accessible for entrepreneurs carrying the passion to serve Black and Brown children. We believe by aiding community entrepreneurs serving the early childhood market, we are bringing equity to under-resourced communities and creating sustainable jobs for working childcare professionals situated in those communities. We see ourselves as future 'architects of change in childcare' and strive to design a blueprint for highly successful and educational childcare centers.

Did You Know Allegheny County has lost 22 Child Care Programs since 2019? Early Childhood Education (ECE) professionals deserve higher pay! Did you know ECE teachers earn an average of $29,000 per year? This does NOT cover the cost of living in ANY county in PA. The Early Excellence Team advocated at the State Capitol in Harrisburg on June 3rd in support of "Imagine A Day Without Child Care." We are committed to influencing the childcare landscape and supporting policy change that helps to attract and retain more teachers in ECE. It is our privilege to speak up and spread awareness regarding the importance of ECE. Visit our website and read our latest blog where we share more - https://lnkd.in/eMr5N5kQ You can speak up and share your story too! The Early Excellence Project is excited to work alongside Duolingo, Candor & Co Consulting and Trying Together in our quest to narrow the opportunity gap children from underserved areas face in early childhood education.
I woke up this morning, and it felt like a holiday! Today I’m celebrating my 2nd anniversary as Head of Social Impact at Duolingo. I’m also excited to announce our first-ever signature impact program that combines our love for learners and our commitment to Pittsburgh. Introducing: Early Learners First. Through this innovative program, we’re pledging $1 million a year towards ensuring greater access to early childhood education and care in our local community. At Duolingo, one of our key operating principles is “Learners First.” Everything we do should serve our global learner community—and that includes our neighbors in Pittsburgh! We believe that expanding access to child care and making it more affordable is one of the most direct ways we can give back and make sure that more of Pittsburgh gets to benefit from the growth and success of Duolingo. I’m grateful to our leadership team for supporting this work and to our partners, Early Excellence Project, Trying Together, and Robyn Tedder of Candor & Co, for helping us see it to fruition. Read more about the program on our blog.
