Congratulations to Dewpoint’s Renee Roth and all the graduates of Leadership Lansing! Learn more about the Leadership Lansing program in Ross’ post below. #makingitpersonal #leadership #dewpoint
May 14, 2024 was graduation day for the 49 outstanding leaders who successfully completed the Lansing Regional Chamber of Commerce (LRCC) 2023-24 Leadership Lansing cohort. The May program was held at Capital Region International Airport. Co-facilitator Susan Combs led the group through a training on foundational skills for coaching; active listening, powerful questions and acknowledgements. Cohort members were also introduced to Sarah Bakken, LRCC Talent Development manager who talked about the ways in which Leadership Lansing participants can not only remain connected to each other but to work with all Leadership Lansing alumni to help build a better region. The Leadership Lansing cohort also enjoyed a lunch presentation from Tamera Carter, a Leadership Lansing alumnus, branch manager for Lake Trust Credit Union and current member of the Lansing City Council. Tamera talked about her own leadership philosophy stressing what she called her pillars of integrity, purpose and perseverance. She also talked about her commitment to self-growth. “I am a life-long learner,” said Councilmember Carter. LRCC President and CEO Tim Daman congratulated the group on their participation in the program and presented each leader with a plaque commemorating their Leadership Lansing experience. Leadership Lansing is a program designed to help develop and equip the next generation of community leaders. 344 leaders have completed the program in its nine-year history. Applications for the 10th year of Leadership Lansing will be available in June at Leadership Lansing - Lansing Regional Chamber of Commerce (lansingchamber.org).

Congratulations to Ryan HetJonk for earning his second ACE Award from the City of Grand Rapids! Ryan continually goes above and beyond his duties to "Make IT Personal" for the City. As one of the City's offices moved to another building, Ryan went out of his way to ensure all the technology was set up before the staff moved. The person who submitted his nomination mentioned, "Ryan has responded to many IT service requests that I have submitted over the last couple of years, and he always provides calm and quick customer service." Thank you, Ryan, for setting an excellent example and Making IT Personal. #MakingITPersonal #LocalGovernment #Dewpoint
