From assembling food packs for Feed My Starving Children to lending a hand at Valley of the Sun United Way, our team is making a real difference. Kudos to our amazing Consumer Lending Team for also crafting 166 bilingual affirmation cards for Free Arts for Abused Children of Arizona.

Our team accepted the award for the large-sized Business of the Year from AZ Big Media in their Champions of Change awards ceremony. So proud of our team's passion to help. It's time to rally for education and support our community's students through our Annual Back to School Drive. Partnering with CW7 Arizona (KAZT-TV)'s Stuff the Bus, we're collecting school supplies from June 8 to July 6 to benefit local Title I schools and Arizona nonprofits supporting education. Students need a wide range of supplies, including backpacks, notebooks, pens, Crayola crayons and more. 30 years ago today, I started work at Desert Schools Federal Credit Union as the VP of Finance. I was relatively new to credit unions and ready for an opportunity to prove myself at a larger one ($450 million in assets) in a much different market. Little did I know that the people within this organization would do so much to help me and shape me into the professional I am today. I have seen many members be helped and many communities and nonprofit organizations supported. I've seen teams and individuals that have built each other up and taken risks that have really paid off. 30 years later, Desert Financial Credit Union is a $9 billion enterprise and one of the most respected and successful credit unions in the U.S. I am grateful for this journey because it has been one of the most challenging and rewarding experiences of my life. I have met so many great people and connected in ways that most folks can only dream about. Thanks to my family and friends for supporting and encouraging me all along the way. Here's to continued learning and growth at Desert Financial and the many more Arizonans who can benefit from partnering with us!
