Make a School Supply Donation - Big or Small! Ever since twin brothers (pictured), Sawyer (left) and Nolan (right), turned three, they have chosen to host a supply drive for a local nonprofit each year in lieu of receiving birthday gifts. This year, as they prepare to start kindergarten, they decided to support DPS and their future classmates with a school supply drive! Join Sawyer and Nolan in supporting a DPS school and classroom this year by collecting and donating supplies or by making a direct gift to the Denver Public Schools Foundation! The DPS Foundation is the strategic fundraising partner for Denver Public Schools.
About us
The DPS Foundation is Denver Public Schools’ fundraising partner. We generate resources, build relationships and champion public education to impact system-wide achievement and help every child succeed. The single most pressing and critical priority for our nation is to provide a quality education for every child. The future of our community and the viability of our economy rely upon a thriving public school system that prepares every student for college, career and life. The Denver Public Schools (DPS) Foundation was founded in 1992 to support DPS in becoming the best urban school district in America. For the last twenty-two years, we have served as a valued partner to DPS, generating financial and philosophical support to advance DPS’ mission of seeing every student graduate from high school. The DPS Foundation believes that when the entire community stands shoulder to shoulder with our educators, we can and will give every DPS student the education they deserve. The outcome of our collective commitment will be a generation of students prepared to lead our city into the future. The DPS Foundation engages the entire community in support of our schools and our children. - We raise money. In 2014-15, we directed over $14 million to DPS. - We champion public education, serving as ambassadors and advocates for DPS. - We build partnerships between the community and our schools, driving talent, resources and volunteers into our classrooms. Today we celebrated a unique partnership between Grand Peaks and the Denver Public Schools Foundation that truly embodies our mission to positively impact the students and teachers of our city. During the press conference celebration, Sara Hazel announced that Grand Peaks will donate 10 apartments to DPS classroom teachers for one year of rent free housing. This program will allow us to offer one-year leases, rent-free, so that educators can affordably live and work within the community they serve. The intent of this opportunity was to support new classroom teachers, specifically those who have worked for the district for 0-3 years. This partnership is a great example of what happens when creative philanthropy comes together to support our community. Our hope is that others will be inspired by Grand Peaks’ generosity to also find unique solutions to support public schools, educators and students. It was a great day filled with celebration—and the Skyline at the Highlands was truly incredible!
